Certainly ample talent, and kindness to boot! Welcome aboard, guys! It's a much deserved appointment

Just my 2 cents- LiteStep is powerful and customizable to every last detail, but modifying requires some intense text editing (think .ini files). DesktopX is much easier to use and design for, and it's never locked my computer. LiteStep, to the contrary, has caused several unrecoverable problems that prompted complete OS reinstalls, although that's not everybodies case.
Without having downloaded it yet, is this a Shell replacement, or just a Shell manager?

JamMeister, never give in, man! We're roundin' up the J33 Defense posse- I'm not entirely appraised of the situation, but it appears the schmucks that have attacked you have few allies themselves, while you have quite a loyal grouping here. Cheer up, you're among friends
Don'thca have to make multiple *.uis files, or something to that effect?
Plug in the Paul Reed Smith, and turn the guitar amp up to 3.
...Of course, I'd have to kill the realism clause.
This is gonna sound retarded... but I've always wanted to be a session guitarist, not the guys that jump around stage, but the ones that sit in the studio and record music for commercials, movies, TV, etc. Perks of the music biz without the dizzying schedule. But if I could be a Formula 1 driver/GameProgrammer/Web Developer/SessionGuitarist/Assasin/StarshipCook... Yah man, THAT's the life!
-#11 by JamMeister33 - 1/23/2003 12:18:46 AM -I'd like to be a professional Assassin... -Some of them I would do 'non gratis' -just for the pleasure of shutting them up. Oh man! I thought I was on your good side, Jammie
I guess we'll pass the beta version; Looks like it's got bugs in it.
DANG!!! Froggy, the software doesn't merit that kind of abuse. But what do you expect from downloads.com (isn't that synonymous with free-loading !*@&$&#!@&'s?) Mr. Galveston appeared to be the most clueless of the bunch, the many of the others didn't seem to bright either. Did I mention OD RAUX!!!
Hey BoXXi, if possible, could you swing a copy of that template my way, too? I'm curious to see your method for keeping them centered. Thanks!
I'm kind of surprised that more people haven't submitted "Widgets" already, especially considering that WC has a section specifically for them.
Fuzzy Logic, If you're ever looking for a First Mate or Navigator...
Y'might also wanna try skinning something simpler just to get the feel for it. AstonShell, AltDesk, Sysmetrix, and ObjectDock are very easily skinned. Iben's right, too. To learn the software, you just have to tinker around with it. You'll get it!
Jafo, I followed the link, but just ended up somewhere around Zelda.
Just out of curiousity, if you could be doing any work for a living (be reasonable, please), what would you prefer to do?
It's good to see skinners combining efforts
BoXXi, you're much too modest about your talents! The quality of the animations (I'm thinking of the moving gears) is absolutely impeccable- it really takes a good eye to put something like that together!
TCP/IP, I will never doubt you again!!
A positive note about Palms (seems the tide has turned PPC)- Battery Life! I'm using an m125 Palm, and the battery life is measure in terms of months instead of hours, on just two AAA's! I realize that most of the PPC's have rechargeable batteries that load-up whilst in the docking cradle, but two months in the pocket without a recharge is a nice benefit. Of course, I'm not using it for intensive multimedia tasks, just address-book, daily planning (Franklin/Covey), and word-processing/spreads
Vargo, you won't be disappointed if you purchase the whole kit (which I HIGHLY recommend!).
