I've got at least two original 50%-90% completed Windowblinds themes sitting on my hard-drive that I've entirely lost interest to complete (having more fun with LiteStep). One basically needs a non-XP taskbar and some glyphs, and the other has pretty much just the XP Start Panel, Windows, and most controls completed. Anyone interested in taking them off my hands for final workup?

What's really interesting is that Apple wasn't the one that sent the email, it was an independent Japanese law firm. Apple has a law staff of its own, not small in capability. Aquanet posted a scanned image of what an official Apple "cease & desist" letter" looks like, and it's sent by FedEx, not some server/router. Not implicating anyone, but it shows there's more occurring than what's presented.
driven01- the Version 4.0(beta) presented in Stardock Central is the one intended for W2K systems in addition to XP (had to check the history to find that out, though). It's working great here, seems perceptably quicker to load and use as well ( thanx Stardock! ).
Downloaded the beta: up and running! Still doesn't skin the stock calculator buttons like in the nifty screenshots, but I'll take it for now
Was the first VWM I've ever tried, and remains the standard by which I judge all others (although currently using rabidVWM.dll in Litestep).
Nevermind!!! c242 got me pointed in the right direction- Uninstalled everything and made sure I had the v1.00 SDC installed. Everything came up fine after that, and WindowBlinds is again working (and quite well, I might add!) WOOHOO!!! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/events.gif" border=0 ALIG
c242- That's exactly what the problem was! I cleared out the duplicate folder, reinstalled v1.00 of SDC, and uninstalled all apps, reinstalling afterwards. Worked like a charm! Apt advice (Thanks to Stardock, too!)
I attempted going through SDC (getting the necessary SDC update and then updating DesktopX, ObjectBar, WindowBlinds to 3.51, and a few others). Now seems that NONE of the programs updated function- WB still continues to just change color, and DesktopX just comes up with an initialization error before aborting altogether. ObjectBar does the same thing. Luckily ObjectEdit still works (so editing LiteStep is a go!). Anyone else getting this? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/n
I'm having major problems with Stardock Central... It appears that everything that updates via SDCentral becomes unusable. Windowblinds, after upgrading to the 3.51 release (because I'm a W2KPro user) now ceases to work, other than changing the system colors. WinStyles, DesktopX, and ObjectBar all perform likewise (they won't load, or begin to load and give an error related to ODZip.dll). DesktopX now gives an Application Error - "The Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). C
StylSkinner - Skinning without additional software (a.k.a.: the hard-way, using reg-hacks, etc...) try http://www.virtualplastic.net for some great info. As far as alternate shells, my fav is LiteStep, but SharpE is decent, too http://www.lowdimension.net As always, when using an alternate shell, I strongly recommend using a shell manager or switcher like ShellON or Carapace.

Just when you think it's the best, it gets better Amazing software from an amazing skinner!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
I've merely demoed Aston in the past, but they don't lie when they say it's stable and doesn't use a great deal of resources! When I was running WinMe, it was the only shell that could stay up more than a day. Highly recommended.
Chalk up another one for wanting a rainlender section...
Thanks guys! Your advice has been apt, and I think all appears to be functioning correctly!
Is it possible to have an area to the upper right AND left of the screen reserved for objects of set size and have the variable region between used for the taskbar object? Below is a simplified ASCII rendition: __________________________________________________ shortcuts /=============================\ systray _________/ =====want tasks here========= \________ If I used a negative value solely, then I would technically have to sacrifice the shortcuts or systray. Much ea
Out of curiousity, has anyone had success making a resolution independent theme for DesktopX? Specifically, I'm attempting to make a horizontal taskbar that will vary in dimension depending on the screen resolution, but it doesn't seem immediately possible. Any suggestions?
I'd definitely advise installing a shell-manager with recovery capability (like Carapace) before messing around with alternate Shells. That way you can always easily switch back to the original in case a shell hangs. Win98 might be the problem, too, if the theme contained any transparency calls.
Congratulations! Raising kids has got to be one of life's most rewarding endeavors. Best to you and yours!
Dang! My sophomore attempt at WB was in a similar vein (chrome border with jell interior, digital btns).I feel remisce to even release it after looking at PixStudio's phenomenal work That's an amazing suite!
kthxbye, It took me a while to figure out Carapace, as there is NO DOCUMENTATION and the website doesn't provide much help either. As long as Carapace is set as the default shell and the alternate shells are configured properly, it seems to work ok. What seems to be the problem/what's not workin'? I'll attempt to help!
Ok, ok... in the past I might have come across as an opponent of LiteStep or said some pretty rash things regarding the shell, but now that I've got a decent shell-manager (Carapace 5.0) I've given it another try and found it to be of great benefit. I'm officially rescinding any nasty or negative things said or implied at LiteStep: it's a solid shell with some of the best themes available and most importantly, a great community behind it. Jafo, I see the light! <img src="http://images
Happiest Birthday, BoXXi!!! 46 isn't old, it's PRIME TIME!!!
In the WindowBlinds Category, APB preferred. DesktopX: BoXXi's the man! Outrageous talent!
