People have said the same thing about a skin that I made. The error message about no uis file. That is strange because rarely does anyone say that and there is a uis file in my skin. I assume it is some sort of mistake on their part. Maybe a corrupt download. There is an ALX.uis and an Alienware.uis file. I just checked.

ive tried it and this error message appears... " There appears to be no .uis file in this skin. Are you sure it is a WindowBlinds skin?" It works. It worked for me. I got the exact same error that you did. Maybe you copied the wrong folder. The folder that you want is the one inside the windowblind folder. You can look in the folder yourself and

Your idea of fun leaves a lot to consider, UzEE. Causing problems for another persons computer is not fun. Malicious website links and viruses are not fun. Submitting known broken skins, is not fun. As an artist here, submitting stuff with known errors is also "not fun". Also, it is an insult to the site and the other artists. It hurts the reputation of the artists and the site itself. Try being on the receiving end of your type of "fun". It sounds like you have a lot of maturing to do my friend

I found a webpage regarding your problem. It seems that the CDR4_xp.sys file is the problem. As I thought, it is a CDR driver issue which is related to your CD drive(hardware) and it has nothing to do with BootDisk or LogonStudio. Maybe a SP2 install caused it or CDR software install, or maybe bad CDR drivers. But, try this webpage, someone had a solution. Good Luck. http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/23189/

If you don't have a WindowsXP disk, how did you install WindowsXP? You can get the WindowsXP Boot disk program for the Home Edition from Microsofts Webpage. But, you will need six 3.5 Floppy Disks to extract the file. They might contain a repair utility. But, you may or may not still need the original OS disk. It sounds like you may have a hardware error which couldn't have been caused by BootDisk or Logon Studio. You may have to wipe your hard drive and try a new OS install. But, if yo

Answer to #6-Assuming that you have the program windowblinds installed, load the windowblind skin from windowblinds. Or you can go to the theme manager directory and copy the Alienware theme folders to your desktop. Then change the extension to zip and unzip it. Then, find the windowblind theme folders and copy them to your windowblinds directory. Then you can load them from windowblinds. [Message Edit

You can try to use a WinXP boot disk to repair the OS. Or maybe your OS restore disk will do the trick. BootSkin has been known to have trouble on certain systems. It sort of depends on what else you have on the computer that might conflict with BootSkin too. Certain Bios don't seem to work well with it either. For changing 8bit pixel skins, its not worth the risk to me. Good Luck.

Open your skin in Skin Studio. Left tree->Miscellaneous/Personality. Right Tree->Background/Wallpaper. Bottom window->import/browse for file. Your wallpaper must be in bmp format as mentioned earlier. And, you must have the option checked in windowblinds configuration to apply any wallpaper supplied. Save and reapply skin. Done.

Why don't you just right click the download button and choose save as, and download the skins to your desktop and install it from there? Then, the skins will stay in the original wba format. And, you can backup all your skins to CDR if you need to reformat your hard drive. Another solution is to get a external hard drive or a second hard drive and use one of those for backup in case you need to reformat your primary hard drive. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border

I did change anything in the systeme Is this what you meant to say? Or did you mean, "I didn't change anything"? You might try #2 suggestion, because you must have changed something and maybe a system restore will change it back. The progra

Would it be cheaper just to get a Gateway from BestBuy??? I think you need to look at your cost from BestBuy. Gateway offered me a ready to go P4 2.4 Ghtz system with 512 MB Ram for 600.00. Hmm, I paid 300.00(board and processor) plus 200.00(memory) and 120(case and power supply). Total cost 620.00(not including the extra $10 for neon fans)<img

One thing I would try to avoid if possible is integrated video or sound. A P4 system with 32MB integrated video or integrated sound, is worthless(in my opinion). I would make sure that if the computer does come with anything integrated(Except maybe ethernet), that you can disable it and install your own AGP or PCI card. For this reason, I would prefer Gateway Direct. At least you could get knowlegdeable support from them.
