I wonder...if you built enough star bases with the speed improvements in one sector, would it boost the SB speed enough for it to move? -DAve ~SDC~

The minor races do not colonize systems outside of their own sector. ~SDC~

For the default install location, the path is: C:\Program Files\Drengin.net\galciv\Data\SaveGames -Dave ~SDC~
When you launch the ship, you have to select the number of people to place on it. It is an easy-to-use slider as soon as you try to launch the ship. It will default to one-half of the plaent population, but you make it as low as 1 if you want. -Dave ~SDC~
Ah, I sent it to Brad last night. ~SDC~

Literally the most fun TBS game I;ve ever played. Prepare to lose hours and hours of your life! :) -Dave ~SDC~
No problem, enjoy! :) ~SDC~
Updates to the AI will come in the future based on how the top players play. Since the game launched yesterday, there hasn;t been enough time to evaluate the top players games and make changes to the AI, or new AIs, based on them. Please be patient, I am sure this will happen in the near future. -Dave ~SDC~
On higher levels, the AI will build up their influence, and build resistance boosting buildings as well. Also, they will begin to notice your "buildup" of cultural addons, and demand that you give them the base, or go to war. I suggest playing at a higher level (AIs at Bright or Intelligent). -Dave ~SDC~
Another option, if you have the cash or tech, is to contact the other Race, and try to buy or trade for that ship, then use it colonize the planet yourself. -Dave ~SDC~
The new colony will start with the exact number of people you put on the ship. However, the more people you put on, the LOWER your starting morale will be on the new colony. This is due to overcrowding. Take smaller amounts of people to smaller worlds (around 50-100 at most), and more poeple to larger worlds (17+). Good Luck! -Dave ~SDC~
There are several tech that increase your attack/defense and hit points. Also military resources will greatly enhance these as you add modules to the starbase. Check out JavaScout's site, http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm, for a great tech tree breakdown w/ descriptions. Good luck! -Dave ~SDC~
1. One of the other races may be destabilizing you. Make sure you are spending money on espionage with each race, and you may find out who is doing it. Also, as you population grows, the morale can go down due to overcrowding. Make sure you have built all of the Planet Quality enhancements as well. Also, you can use colony ships and transports to move people from small planets (15-17) to larger ones with more room. Also, make sure you check the tax/spending sliders. Lowering you tax rate a
Yes and yes. The parties were pared down and the bonuses balanced for better game play. -Dave ~SDC~
After a little while dominating the Influence of the entire map (or nearly all), you will get a message that says that at the current rate you will win in two years. After that, the 12 mts (months/turns) will count down to 0, and you will win a cultural victory. Keep in mind, you need to dominate most of the sectors (meaning they show as your color in the mini-map. Hope this helps. -Dave ~SDC~
That can be a result of morale. Unhappy people won't work and won't reproduce. Raising taxes sometimes can lower morale and therefore your income. -Dave ~SDC~
ATTN: Stardock When there is a fix to the Metaverse submission problem, please post it here. To sum up, some of us are having the game CTD when submitting to the metaverse, and the scores don't register. Thanks for efforting this problem, you have all been great!!! -Dave ~SDC~
If it is re-added, it would be cool if you could request via Diplomacy that an AI start an embargo against someone else. This way you could prevent other AIs from trading with your enemies/competition. -Dave ~SDC~
Wait, is it not supposed to go directly the desktop after I submit? It has always done this during the beta, and I assumed that it was what was supposed to happen. -Dave ~SDC~
I think the games get submitted to their Db first, and then are posted to the site a little later. -Dave ~SDC~
Damn, well, if you go to: http://www.galciv.com/encyclopedia.asp You can find the article. ~SDC~
I believe there is an encyclopedia entry that describes the exact formula that it used for influence. link I hope that link works, and that the information helps. -Dave ~SDC~
