Influence works both within a sector and from the adjacent sectors. It will be more effective inside the actual sector though. Boosting the outside sector influence can really help, though. -Dave ~SDC~

IBNobody brings up a good point. i was speaking with Cari a few days ago about having a way to convert unused resources (when a planet would normally build Nothing), or some percentage of them, to money or research or something. This is similar to the Capitilization option in Civ3. Cari seemed to like the idea as well. -Dave ~SDC~

I submitted a thread a few days ago suggesting spending sliders for each planet and/or spending governors for use with different types of planets (high quality, low quality, frontier, conquered, etc.). There seemed to be a lot of support for it. -Dave ~SDC~
I deleted all of the ComponentManager Registry keys after uninstalling SDCentral. I have now re-installed and re-registered through the SDC application, and Galciv DOES appear. Perhaps the uninstall should be set to remove ALL CM registry keys as well as the ones that it currently deletes. -Dave ~SDC~
This is an ongoing problem. I was working with T-Man a while ago to try and fix it, but nothing seems to have worked. I did a fresh install of SDCentral, with no change. It also seems like uninstalling SDCentral does NOT remove any registry entries. When I re-installed, all of the same information was still present. -Dave ~SDC~

Keep in mind there is a lot of trading betweeb the minor races and the AI. Perhaps they are buying these techs with their massive amounts of excess cash. -Dave ~SDC~

I noticed that the sharing of certain elements is still happening between the Kwilasians and the I-League. I apologize if I am wrong, but it seemed like the Kwilasians were in m game, and then when the I-League formed, they all became I-League worlds. The I-League's leader is named Kwilas(something). This was present in the Beta, but has not been changed. Again, if the Kwilasians have been dropped as a minor race, and that is the correct name of the I-League leader, please accept my apologie

Thanks Brad. I;ve already rebooted since my last SDCentral Upgrade. I've been running it for a while now, and the auto-updates seem to work without a problem. I appreciate the warning, though. Will there be any problems for me as the multimedia files install if I am playing when it happens? ~SDC~

I am also using an ATI card with the latest catalyst drivers, but more and more this seems like a problem that comes from upgrading over the beta. You didn't, by chance (and I am pretty sure this has nothing to do with it), click on the Metaverse button from the games main menu before trying to start any games? Again, this probably has nothing to do with it, I am just trying to weed out the differences in what we've done to help find the similar cause. -Dave ~SDC~

I am using the newest (until 10 minutes ago) SDCentral. I also asked earlier in the Chat whether I should let it update over the beta, or do a fresh install, and the concensus was to let it update... ~SDC~
I am having the same problem. Unfortunately, I just removed everything, and so don't have my debug.err file. FWIW I am using Windows XP and updated from the beta (though now I will have a fresh install...) -Dave ~SDC~
