so where do I send this? ~SDC~
hang on... there is a galciv.cra there.. strange that I missed it just now. ~SDC~
It's probably because I updated the game just before finishing it or something. I'll quickly go and start a new game to create another score ;) ~SDC~
and to think that with my score of 100 I could actually make it to the top 25 now!!! WHEEEEH!!! :sniff!: ~SDC~
I've searched all my HD's (that took a while) and found no *.cra file anywhere. :( ~SDC~
I get the message that SmartException has tried to log extra information, and if I want to know more I should press the smartexception button. So I do that. And there I see: nothing. That probably won't help the devs too much ;) Do I need to have a specific port open on my firewall to do a metaverse submission? ~SDC~
that did happen indeed but just now Smartexception did tell me that the program had crashed but just didn't generate a log :-? ~SDC~
well debug.err doesn't show anything before or during the crash. Before the crash the last line is: Debug Message: Total Ships: 144 & 0 are dead (that message is in there a lot of times) and after the crash: Debug Message: Lock: Surface is Restored. ~SDC~
yeah, I'm running 1.01.029 with the bonuspack now. (at least that's what SDC tells me. The game does look different now I installed the bonuspack but only in minor details. Could it be a problem that I played the game before updating it? ~SDC~
When I try to submit my first game to Metaverse Galciv crashes. I played most of the game without the bonuspack but now I have the bonuspack installed. Does that matter for this? ~SDC~
You can extract any *.??_ file with the standard windows expander so expand manual.pd_ manual.pdf will get you the manual. (it's big mind you). ~SDC~
Thanks Frogboy. I woul still like to be able to install this 500Mb I downloaded already, but if that's not going to happen, alas... ~SDC~
another nice one: I decided to manually extract the main galciv archive to the temp dir before installing the multimedia. This time the multimedia claims to have installed correctly, but it only extracted the zip! The files are still not expanded or put into the galciv directory! ~SDC~
I'm having the same problem as Easty. I finally downloaded the full packages but I haven't found a way to install the lot. I can install galciv, but the multimedia is just extracted to the temp dir of SDC and then an error occurs mentioned above: -- [Installation] --------------------------------------------------- Loading: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\temp\gc1.xml Result: Success Extract File: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\temp\Base\Data\invasiontactics\CoreTactics.
as a Drengin net user, what serial do I need to use for installing such a Galciv retail install? Or does it automatically detect my drengin.net serial? ~SDC~
Just continue with support like this. That way at least *I* get more than I hoped for LOL
This is what I understand so far: -You can download the game to an archive and install from that or you can install directly. -Installing directly supports resume. -Downloading to an archive does not support resume. -After installing a game (or part) you can archive that part for backup. This leads me to the idea that it is best to direcly install any download and archive it after installation. Does that lead to the same kind of archive as the one you can download?<b
fyi, I have checked the helpfile in SDC but the links about 'archive' all lead to the page 'create stardock.net account'. It seems the helpfile isn't quite done yet. :(
I may sound ignorant but I like the atmosphereon this forum so I'll just go ahead and ask. How can I install the archives I've been able to download? Should I press the install button in SDC? Won't it download again?
Maybe it's possible to access the stardock files with an FTP client? I've never had problems resuming with ftp. Or is that too insecure?
As probably mentioned before it would be great if the download and archive option would support resuming. I've had the multimedia packagage restart three times now, one of which was alreayd at 95%. That is a bit silly really. :notsure:
Yay! Stardock has illustrated it's name in customer service. I'm downloading Galciv now.... oh boy oh boy oh boy... :d ~SDC~
The only problem I have is that I want my Drengin.net subscription but I don't dare try submitting my form again with this warning: "Do Not Resubmit Your Order!" LOL I hope that the sales people from stardock get in touch with me quickly so I can start playing these Stardock games :) This is probably not the kind of post you were looking for in this tread right?... oh well ;p
I may have been overlooking this, but where can I find what all the medals, and icons mean that are listed next to the name of people (both in Metaverse and on the forum?)
