#5 by Citizen Ur-Quan Master - 11/11/2003 9:52:45 PM You can remove the process permanently by removing the entry called MCPClient in your registry. The registry entry is located here :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\MCPClientYou can save the entry in a file before deleting it, if you want to restore it.Basically this is a service that will call a stub dll when you logon your computer and will eventually call the sdmcp.exe.But i would guess
Oh, it is just a Spymaster thing. It would be out-of-character of me to neglect espionage altogether at the beginning of the game, dump a lot of money in toward the middle to get to advanced, and then stop funding it. But it also makes no sense to overfund something that does not seem to have many benefits. Therefore, to satisfy both character requirements and some sort of common sense, I keep funding it at a minimum level from the first turn I meet that alien. This represents the continu
I agree with Aaberg. It appears to be a random event, but only after you've reached advanced espionage and only ever against the Drengin. I guess they're just too stupid to develop effective counter-espionage.I've never had tech stolen from me though, ala MOO2. Not sure if that happens in Gal Civ.
I've had my espionage crqanked up to about 50% per civ and I was stealing tech from just about everyone. Sometimes I would steal from a few civs in one turn. It probably depen
I think StarDock have given this game great support. If you don't think so play the game unpatched.
Yes, and user input counts for a lot more at StarDock than at any other software company I can think of. How many user suggestions were incorporated into the game so far? Way too many to count. But this is typical support for StarDock. It's almost like they are doing it because they CARE about their products and customers, and not just as a revenue stream. :)
But does this mean the game is lost overall?
In the old OS/2 version, when an alien civ went beyond reality (to god status), they judged you unworthy and reverted the human race back to a single celled organism so we can "start over." :) Bill ~SDC~
Stardock should really adress known bugs before giving us some thing new.
Fine in theory, but if Microsoft followed that doctrine, we would still be using Windows 1.x. I believe you didn't mean it quite so literally, so we're actually speaking of a certain tolerance for bugs. In that case, my personal bug tolerance level tells me that the product was sufficiently bug-free to warrant an upgrade. The bugs that you've mentioned, while annoying, aren't show stoppers and th
There is not an error message Test: 1 Error:0 means game submitted succesfully, that is not an error is just the code for the previous message (game submitted), so if you get the Test:1 Error:0 go to Metaverse and you will see your game already there, for some people takes couple of minutes for the result to be posted specially for those who uses dialu-up as me.
This looks to me like the game is displaying the debugging info instead of some user-friendly message.
#13 by Avatar Frogboy - 10/22/2003 7:10:58 PM Circular galaxies woudln't really make sense though. You're not playing the known unierse, you're playing in a galaxy which aren't circular.
Yeah, I was thinking that the theory of circular universes was pretty much accepted by the scientific community, but like you said, this is a GALAXY, not the whole universe. :) Bill ~SDC~

It's not even the year 2200 yet and I've had the prison event slapped on me TWICE in a row! Those six battle crusiers are just going around stomping my meager fleet. I tried to "give" another race the "priveledge" both times, but both times everyone voted that *I* should have it. Sorry, this post has no point to it except a little comic relief. :) Bill ~SDC~
I lost the tech race to a friendly rival in my latest Maso game. The game didn't end on the spot? I was allowed to play on, to continue. I kept going, as I was already on the last tech myself, but when I got to Final Frontier sixty turns later, the game didn't end then either. What gives? Is that is how the "Alien Tech Victory" is supposed to work? It doesn't actually cause you to lose, but instead takes the tech victory off the table?
Be thankful that they let you live t
I just finished a game and got a ZERO score. That is the second time this has happened. The first time was when I first installed v1.10. Not that stardock ever commented on the ZERO score the first time.
Doesn't this happen when you use the cheat codes? Maybe you have them enabled by accident? Bill ~SDC~
It's only telling you your number one out of all the races you have made contact with, if this is at say the beginning of the game and you haven't met anyone then yes they will say you are number one because they have nothing to compare you to.
Well, it doesn't matter how many civs I've already found. Even if all the major covs are discovered, I'm always #1. Hmmm... Bill ~SDC~

There's a bug in the stats screen that tells me that I'm #1 - ALWAYS! It doesn't matter where I actually rank in anything. It's as if my cabinet is trying to shield me from the awful truth... ;) Bill ~SDC~

Maybe you could form a fleet which has a destination one ship space shy of the planet. Then when they get there, manually send the freighter to the destination planet? Bill ~SDC~
