the prefix IN is equated to not able to, or unable to. Thus the word INHABITABLE formally would mean not habitable or not able to be lived upon. Just my little lesson for the day .
Therefore, Master Yoda, a related but game-unrelated question : what's the story of inflammable and flammable? Logically I should use a inflammable product to put out a flammable one that was set on fire. But, practically, it would be a very bad idea ;) . Edtit; oops, hadn't se

LOL Now that I've joined the fellowship, and to avoid bakka's problem, I'll start thinking about some justifications in advance, just to avoid being taken unprepared ;p . Something like "there is a huge galactic crisis that can lead to war, I'm trying to solve it by talking to some acquaintances who are very weel versed in these matters. You MUST admit that it is more important than what you are asking me to do! just wait your turn!"

To add to all the previous: Under their pictures in the relations screen you have a slider which shows the level of your relations with them. It helps to determine if they're almost ready to be your ally (and a gift of some sort should suffice) or if you still need to work on your relations with them, by orienting your trade towards them (or developping techs that allow you to have new trade routes). This will bring them to close in time, and them you can ally.
Hehehe...I've been at work for 2 1/2 hours and haven't done the first thing!
LOL Yes there is a growing force/passion consumming all my working energy, and it will be unstopable if i don't deal with it soon: everytime someone asks I say I'm working on this or on that, thus taking a random penalty on my time left to work on it every turn (I meant reply) ;p [Message Edited]
Hey and you too Nastavnik, your player id is 581. Wow, you are the earliest among us to buy the game I believe.
Yop. I missed the beta thing for about a week, and then waited till the middle of the night (on my time zone) to start downloading it from stardock on the very first day it was out (at 12:01 am of that day actually, US time). Very few games due to too much work and also because of some infidelities: the medieval total war expansion was released so I spe
music being closely related to poetry.
I completelly agree. That's how I came to it. Many of the brazilian music of the 60-70, which we call bossa-nova, were actually poems put into music: Vinicius de Moraes wrote the lyrics (and he was a poet -- and brazilian ambassador to the USA for a time)and Tom Jobim wrote the music. They had their own fellowship of the Drink: they re always together and in every picture I saw of them, they're are holding a glass of whiskey (e
Excellent association, I bet you know your poetry well. I on the other hand am a neophyte, but I keep working at it.
Only bits and pieces. This was a lucky association. :) I'm trying to work at it, but galciv, my work, etc, seems to get in the way. ;)
We role-play as fantasy characters in the Fellowship.
Welcome Nastavnik! Talk about coincidences in life. The Fellowship was 30 points short of 900,000 pts and your pre-1.05 scores of 62 just tipped us over. You made a valuable contribution.
Thks Ray. Who said with small steps you get nowhere, hein? LOL

Hi Miles Naismit, your mettalica song just remembered me of another "for whom the bell tolls". I've discovered this one in the movie, from Hemingway's book. It does not rock and roll like yours, but when you see all what is happening out there, it's good to remember it: For Whom the Bell Tolls by John Donne No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, <b

Hello Freya, I guess we are the latest new comers to the fellowship. I've only been there for a few more minutes than you, but I guess I can already say it looks like a nice place to be: Good discussions and very good players, with vast knowledge of the game. But I can see you are already a fine player (but from where I stand, almost everyone is ... ;p ) See you around :)

That's it Ray: I'm one of yours. The forth rank, counting from down below... But all the 5 games I submetid where my first 5 games, and before the scoring system changes. The two last I could not submit (1.09 version) an 4k and something scores. That will help my average :) . I think I've only talked to Ray till now, so hello to everyone else. Glad to join you: it was about time I stopped being a Ronin (rogue samurai, without a clan). For those who don't know, as Ray p

Hello Ray, It ain't that easy LOL Work was waiting for me on my desk, and I had to wait till the lobby is clear to come here: they don't like their analists to spend time on the internet instead of ... analizing. But it is a nice job, with 6 weeks vacation plus 20 days of compensation for working 39-45h a week instead of 35 (as stated in the law). On my way to join you :)
There is a conversion button in the Metaverse registration page for Drengin users. See Link
Thks for that! Il try it when I get home (I'm at work, typing this and checking there is noone coming ;p ) Then Y'll resubmit the game I told you about (last week I think), I finally managed to win after some huge space battles, although I could not determine if there was or not a fleet bonus beeing applied -- as we discussed. Some times it appeared there was, others not. <b

No, I Think it's not 100% acurate: a lot of changes have been implemented in the game, maybe all of them didn't make it to this version of the manual. But there are frequent updates for the manual too, so in the end I guess it will be up to date. For good strategy advices you can also check the orion guide, that was put together by some players. Very nice reading (I think it's in the download section -- not sure).
#2 by Citizen techranger - 7/23/2003 10:10:08 AM Hi and Thanks Nastavnik... When I logged onto Stardock Central (I have it installed) it brings me to a "product News" page. On that page it does not even list version 1.05 letalone tell me my version currently is. It has a lot about skins, other products, and some new reviews but no version 1.05. Needless to say, I'm a bit disappointed in Stardock Central. What could be the problem?I guess I could just download the patch but I really want

Sorry I can't be of much help. Maybe you should try asking in the GC Mods forum. I 'm pretty sure that HawaiiFive-O will be able to help you. He has even made a program that allow you to mod the game yourself quite simply. Just on a side note: have you downloaded the bonus pack & latest patches? The bonus pack particularly added many features & random events. Maybe that's why you're missing a folder (just a guess :) -- I dont mod a lot therefore my ignorance in those matte

Hello techranger 1st question, your version: I think yes, that would be the version you have (but I'm not a tech master, and I too have been away for a while) 2: if you mean stardock central, you just need to click on the update button in the software page. Using SDC is by far the best & easiest way to update (at least that has been my experience). When you connect with SDC, you can immediately see what version you have and what is the latest available. Then you just click update a
