Some events are also worth more towards alignment change then others. Get some small ones, and it will take many. Get a big one, and it will only take that one.
Its good fun. I downloaded it as I posted the link but I can't get it to work My machine doesn't have an EMS driver and won't load one. I may dig out one of my really old PC's just to play it..... I think I still have a 486DX2100 in the loft
DosBox. It's an free, open source x86 old Dos emulator. Been discussed on these forums before. Works fantastic. You will need to study up on the mount command to be able to use a NTFS, but other then that... ;) Link: http:/
I actually don't have Paladin in the game. Interesting but really i was looking for it. I got Wraith and Vampire. What do people think is that a bug?
Not bug. Good guy only. Wraith and Vampire are Evil Guy ships. Sovs rock and Paladins are sweet.
It can sometimes make it difficult to give away a specific ship.
Grathocke, I always rename the ships I want to give away/sell, so that they are easy to find. Also keeps me from giving away the wrong ship. ;)
Short/Small window display when Built Description of Trade Center is missing a comma. Description says: "a powerful way for us to improve our economy, morale influence, and technology." Needs comma between morale and influence ( "morale, influence" ).
Well, put Fusion Power Plant before Hyperion. It's short and quick, and very useful. Then build maybe a Manu, at 100 cost. I don't have a problem with the minors building whatever ships they want to. If you don't invade them as soon as they pop up, then *what's wrong with you*? That's what the Drengin do! Well, when they are having a good game. ;) I think it's silly to have minors pop up in the late game. All the AI invade them... as their military is just too weak. Maybe they
Way to go Drazzil! The AP Expansion is going to be loved by all who love GC. :D
Bug: Minor: Multiple Star Ships assigned the same name. ie: I've got 3 "USS Anti-Matter Missile 51" I've got other ships with identical names (mostly colony ships).
Primipilus Alexus, for me, I have to vote at home to get it to swap to results. Something about my work machine's set up never lets the poll roll over to results.
But which way? I know you do great stuff... but there is a serious difference between 1, 2, and 3. SC1 was fantastic for sitting around with your buds and doing Melee with. SC2 was really fun RPG. SC3 was, well, not well liked by the SC fan base overall.
MASTER OF MAGIC! Star Control 2 is available for free, FrogBoy. Unless you are thinking a SC1 (all strategy with tactical ship versus ship battling)?
Hey PJ! They are asking about your empire over in the Empire forum!
That's what I hoped for, but no... :(
Are you missing an UP issues (like the pay for a big party one)? Are you building any cost to build modules (I forget at the moment what cost 500 BC in AP currently). I ask because I have not been having this problem and I play Large maps. Did you just have war declared on you, and lost all your trade? Lose a minor that was trading with you? [Message Edited]
I've switched to going for Fedies (+20% Economy), with +7% PQ and +20% Economy lately. With Economy so high, I find that I often MAKE money when maxed out production-wise in the early to mid games. All that money in lets me stay WAY ahead on all the tech I want... and keep up where I need to. I get all the Unique Goodies I want, except for Galactic Stock Exchange. The AI always beats me to it these days. One of my favorites too... I used to be big into Technologists, but I find
Pure random. I've never seen the Dark Arnor, AFAIR. And the Dreginol have always popped up so late in the game, I have a huge unbeatable war fleet to crack them when they first pop up. Well, so far... (*knock* *Knock* *knock*)
It's funny you should say that, Peter. I used to do that. These days, I just build extra colony ships and leave them in orbit. Transports cannot get through those. I do research star fighters though... and pop a few of those out from the lesser worlds. Just to boost up my military rating. As long as your MR is higher then theirs, the AI won't start a war with you... unless a random event forces them. I recently had a random "assassin" event... with the Drengin leader visiting the Drengi
I don't have many problems. But then, I'm a basic empire/economic builder that likes to dabble in a bit of war now and then. Simple trade is more then enough to get "Close". If they are of opposing alignment (and you still want them as a buddy), then trade LOTS with them. Once we both have Alliance, I find it's usually a very simple matter for me because by then, we've been "snuggle buddies" for so long. Now, on the higher difficulty levels, it might take a lot more then trade.
The *minor* races in AP still do not have their own portraits. But the 2 new majors definately do. 2 more Alien races to trade, ally, bully, be bullied, compete against, and conquer. Lots of fun. ;)
Or get AP... and play a map where you get the better of the set up. Say, a PQ 45 starting world. With large purple star clusters near you with 5 PQ 35 worlds each. And starting fighting ships to blow up the incoming aliens starting colony ships. The AI is picking your "Rocks" party because they want to "rox" as well. It's what you'd do, in their place. So, get AP and play on custom maps, or just lower the difficulty on the AI so that you can really enjoy squashing them.
Because someone asked the Star Dockians *here* about PM? We do get the occasional "off GC but still related to Star Dock" question. Most people either ignore it, or help.
@Dream Warrior. Well, the Accord of Recruiting struck by the Empires to end the Empire Bump/Recruiting War was that recruiting is fine as long as your replies contained genuine on topic comments, or some such thing, wasn't it? :) But I really do wonder why some players feel "cut off". If I felt that way, I wouldn't have as much fun or feel as welcome here in the GalCiv community. I don't like the thought other GalCiv members feel that way. All the business about making an
CariElf has described elsewhere recently how you can set the Star Dock to automatically keep an archive of your updates. It is supposed to make a zip backup and then download the new updates when set to that option. If you did that, then you'd have "older" versions you could restore to, and therefore play/submit/etc.
Solitar, that's fine. We will agree to disagree. :) If you want to have your criticisms taken seriously, its best to respect other people. Otherwise it's just venting. Now, as a customer of Star Dock, he certainly has the right to come here and vent about his frustrations he encountered while playing GalCiv. No question about that. As a community member here, I have the right to tell him take his nasty trolling elsewhere. He vented, we are responding as we choose. The
LDiCesare, if you autosaved on turn one of a scenario, you could abandon the scenario and restart it... including from the picks. Should be immaterial now though, IIUC what CariElf said. ;)
