Resources: Keep them on the map (i.e. no FOW) once discovered. If another race colonizes them the location of the original resource disappears, making it difficult to plan attacks strategically (i.e. were there strategic resources in this sector worth fighting for, again??)

Stone Age Population Random Event: The neutral and good choices appear switched; i.e. neutral moving existing population to subcontinent is negative (-20%) but the good using only the polar ice cap is negative (-3%).
Yes! Also, how about smoothing out income/expense summary at top of planet summary by NOT counting 1 time deals. My income was listed as $2,000 on month b/c of a 1 time trade! :) I mean I could go to the domestic page, but who wants to... :)
Domestic Electioneering Idea: To prohibit cheating (i.e. lowering tax rate the month before an election to win it) average morale for the 2 years (1 year, or 6 months).
Yes, break alliance function!

A number of people have commented on the ability to "cheat" an election by lowering taxes just before. What about averaging morale, so that elections are based on average morale over the last 2 years? That way you can't cheat a month before... Any thoughts?
Thanks, didn't know that!
BTW, Lord Ron, yes the graphics seemed to be empty - screens half-filled and weird looking and then a crash so severe I had to reboot just to use the computer. Very odd!
Good news! Re-install fixed everything! Good thing I backed up my old games too. Got them working after all (after a long time of trial and error! - had to reinstall all the new updates, too.) Survived just long enough to be wiped out 20 turns later, but at least it all works! How very weird it all happened, though. Hope no one else experiences super fatal crashes.
Thanks for help... turns out the autoload didn't work for some reason and even clicking on the disk didn't help. I had to manually OPEN CD. Weird... Just finished re-installing everything but looks like previous games corrupted beyond redemption :(
This is so weird. After uninstalling, I can't even get the CD to work to reinstall. It refuses to either autoload from the CD or to be acknowledged. Is this some kind of weird copy protection feature??? (yes, other game CDs work fine)
DK if this happened to anyone else but my entire game crashed so bad it required a re-boot and still wouldn't work. I just installed all the new stuff, but I dk if that is why, b/c it worked fine for 2-3 hours. I guess I will try re-installing, but I hope it doesn't affect saved games...
Thanks! This is a great feature! The mousewheel works very well with this! However, perhaps a true slider (instead of arrows?) I guess they did that to avoid the other probem of not getting precise enough?
I know this gets asked all the time and I thought I was beginning to understand this but now I am confused again... I have a planet loaded with banks, etc. that has produced revenue in the past. It is at 55% morale but class 12, admitedly but I am a federalist in power. Anwyay, it has 0 revenue with 400M people. I don't get it. What does it take to generate some revenue?
At least for now, I still find myself entering numbers but it is annoying that I type in a number and it INSERTS it, instead of types of the numbers. Instead of just typing in 400 over the 100 autostart number, I have to type 4, erase 1, and often make typos. Ditto with the number of months. Making typed offers OVERWRITE as opposed to INSERT would avoid much needless repetition. Thanks!
I don't get it at all. What does the new slider do? To my untrained eye it only increases by odd increments, sometimes 75s and sometimes 10s and it still resets if your trade offer is rejected? I still feel inclined to type stuff in and yet so many people love it. What am I missing? Thanks.
I understand you can purchase influence, but I stil like the persuade function as well.
Oops, I didn't understand that. Hmm, but my planets were so easily conquered...
I also have the same question. I like this game a lot, but it feels like Civ 3 in space. I mean, I am on a small map, but I am not sure I have experienced any kind of great story line. Just lots of random events...
That's what I call service. A bunch of us pointed out the need for this and the designers responded ASAP even though it is a relatively minor touch that flavors the game (as opposed to a fundemental mechanic). Well done! These little touches make a good game, great!
1. Confirmation of abandon colony 2. Slightly better interface for diplomacy screen. Whenever I want to enter numbers for a trade, instead of typing something in (like I want 500) I need to ERASE the $100 for 0 months and then type in 50 per 20 or 500 or whatever. It sounds tiny, but it is cumulatively annoying :) 3. Please refresh economic decisions immediately as opposed to turn and take out 1 time affects. My income was listed as 1000 for 1 turn b/c I made a trade for
Yes, confirmation a must. After several hours of play, it is easy for sleepy players to hit the wrong button.
