I have built several but their effect on my ship defense ratings do not seem to be indicated either on the ship itself or on the planetary information details screen. Do I misunderstand what they do, is it reflected without saying so in an actual battle or are they bugged?

Awesome! Thanks! Now, do you have any any idea what the typical randomizer advantage range is? I mean when the numbers go scrolling...
Same for Nano-Frequency Electrons
I am still experiencing text run-offs. When I checked out the history for shields, the text ran down below the box and I could not scroll. Is this just my computer, do I not realize there is a simple solution, or is this still a problem? (I thought it had been fixed with 1.02...) Thanks for any thoughts!
Can anyone explain how invasion strength works? If I have 1M invaders vs. 4M residents do I need a 4-1 advantage on the randomizer to have a 50/50 chance of winning? I just don't get it... Thanks!
Someone wrote their monitor was too dark and wanted gamma correction. I used to have this problem with other games, and I discovered that you can usually adjust Gamma through your software: Screen Properties (Right click on your desktop) - Settings - Adv Properties and the next differs from card to card. Under the Matroxx, you could click Colors, and then another menu and you could manually adjust your gamma. Under Nvidia GeForce 4, there are about 4-5 more steps. If you a
Clearer Fog of War I could just be confused, but when I scan the large tactical map - the main one in the center, it is difficult to tell if it is in scanner range or not. Thus, if there are empty buffer sectors, and I have a scount nearby to watch for incoming ships, I can't tell clearly how far their range extends. In Civ 3, once you explore an area the permanent FOW is removed, so you can see the terrain, but if you can't currently see whats in the terrain, the terrain l
Warning that someone else is buidling a unique wonder or trade good, like in Civ 3. "The Altarians are starting a great project, Frictionless Clothing!" and when they are close to completing it.
Ditto bump... :notsure:
I Dk. Frogboy said something about the game crashing to desktop a lot b/c their mp3 player had far more than 4 soundbuffers like previous industry standard cards like soundblaster live. They said they would correct it, whatever that meant/did...
I think the AI does cheat at the top 2 levels, but I am not sure if it cheats at bright. With 100% military spending I was able to crank out colony ships every few turns in a small galaxy with no bonus to production. The rest of their wealth I cannot explain...
For you Battle of the Bulge fans, one of my similar responses was "nuts"

I'm so stupid. I see it now. Sorry fo the post. If they had an edit I would have deleted it! :notsure:
It looks great but is there a version with a white background instead of a gray one. I started to print it out only to realize with horror, the toner going into it...
Thanks. That is helpful. However, once I explore a sector, how can I determine at a glance whether it is within my sensor range or not?
I have a lot of trouble seeing whether an area is fogged or visible. For example, they both look black to me, and I dk if it is empty space or just FOW filled with stuff I can't see exactly. I am sure I am missing something obvious but can someone tell me what? Cross example: In Civ 3, an area under FOW is darker than one you can currently see - brightly lit. Thanks!
Thanks again!
You can tell their most powerful technology and ships already just by going to the diplomacy screen...
Thanks. I think I found it finally. It is part of the software tab of the game, not an internet explorer site - I think. Can you access through the web or do I always run that program? Thanks again! (Whew, and I thought I was savvy with this stuff :p
I think I created an account for stardock.net (and stardock.com) looked for the SOFTWARE TAB but could never find it. Somehow I got to Drengin Games but when I clicked on Galactic Civilizations, it just brought me back here. What am I doing wrong? I would like to find the patch 1.01A and also any multimedia updates... Thanks (totally confused) :notsure:
Sorry, for this simplistic question, but I don't see it on the readme. Once, when I switched windows (but not closing the game) I saw it listed at the bottom but no longer... Thanks!
Stackable transport attacks. If 2 or more transports attack a world they can attack cumulatively (admitedly, you can claim poor timing of wave attacks - a common problem in WWI & WWII and other places...)
Sorry to bump this up again, but I am really curious...
