Aside from the difference in directories, yeah, that's what the shortcut says. Tried username passed in the shortcut, but it didn't work. Been playing the beta since it first came out, don't know what happened to lose the registry entry, don't know why it doesn't work after I downloaded from stardock and reinstalled. right now, the only way I get the game to start is opening cmd, changing to the directory and running the exe followed by /username /passwor

Well, I got one in a goodie cache, I was going to mention it in a bug report, it says it's worth 3,000, but when you actually sell it, you only get 300, was wondering about the disparity in values. Doesn't seem to do anything other than give you something to sell. I do have the save game.
Somewhere along the line, I lost the ability to just use the shortcut to launch FE. I get the popup to use the cli with username/password. THat works correctly, but it's a pita. I uninstalled/reinstalled, but still can't use the shortcut to launch, How do I fix? pek
[quote who="AaronLP" reply="65" id="3097080"] Quoting pkaski, reply 58There's a special place in hell for companies that have 2 betas at once, you know.................................. pek And wat 2 betas would those be ? on a more related note, finally we get a decent opening cinematic from you guys rather than the original one. always nice to see a mock of of the in-game action
I saw them out in the ocean, too, but that was in the last release, thought they'd have cleaned that one up. Didn't. pek
Picture says it all, I went into the tomb that spawns all the armies after you leave, this one ended up on top of a mountain, where I couldn't get at them and I can't lower that mountain: You need to clean up your positioning algorithm a little. If you can't walk there, you can't spawn there. pek Sorry, it looks like the screen cap is too big for the forum. But,

Been working the FE beta, now you give me sins! I have a big obligation to hit the sins beta hard, but I've been enjoying the fe, too. Damn it, Brad..................................... My weekend just went away. Hell, taking today off work, now. pek
So far as I've seen, you'll have to keep you eye out for the popup saying so-and-so cursed city xxxx. Only way I've found is to eliminate the caster, unless there is some other way, treaties don't work, and they DON'T have to be at war with you to cast spells on your cities. pek
I think this is my problem, too (not sure about the path finding problems, but it does happen when a unit can't get there from here). I find I have to save, then exit completely out (we're back to ctd when trying to reload a save after an error). That's seems to to be the only way to recover from this error. pek
AI is definitely more aggressive about gathering treasures/hunting monsters to level up and could be better about recruiting. At least, I had a lot of hero's laying about to gather up. Haven't had a chance to get .86 on, yet, was having too much fun abusing the Rats Quest. But, i did actually have an AI declare war on me, even though they were about 80 points behind me. Is the declare war random or do we actually have diplomacy to worry about now?
Good, it started to get really annoying after a hundred or so turns (did you really think I'd let an opportunity like this pass by?) Did you fix my other post I just made? pek
Ok, I got this popup from Umber (not sure if means anything who it comes from): "We have -536870912. You have +1610612736. Something to laugh about....... or cry about" Maybe you need to stop Brad from coding now. The stress may be getting to him. Does he yell things like "I smell purple!" at staff meetings? Maybe increase his meds? pek Really, I've been doing beta'
I completed the rats quest, went back to get my Doom Club, or 300 gildar, or 20 capital points. Well, EVERY TURN I get a choice of the 3, and it keeps giving my 300 gildar (the 20 capital points don't seem to do anything) and how many doom clubs can a guy have? And, the choices pop up twice each turn. I also got the quest of the village and the bandits (reward is archers) twice. pek
By the time you started looking at WOM, there was very little of the original design left. The nice thing about the Internet is that stuff lives on forever. The early discussions and forums posts (including the early concept drawings, one of which I posted here) are still out there somewhere. You can easily look at the image I pasted and the final game and see how different they were. It has often been the case that forum users overstate t
I have noticed that when I get a little - anxious - and click a few too many times to move a stack or get a bit twitchy, the game will go out to never-never land and I'll have to get to the task mgr to close fe. You probably know already since this is a beta ui, but I like to see myself in print. pek
Update my 7950 post. I un-installed fe (including the user directory files, then reinstalled base, then .77, it's back to "normal". Not sure why I had to reload fe after my video card swap, my other games, (so far) ran ok after. pek
In .77, before my 7950, I forgot I set to garrison my units when created (after I read this thread, because the same thing happened to me), and wondered why I never saw any just outside my cities. So, they do auto garrison in .77, anyway.
I had a pair of 5770's in xfire running the 11.12 ati drivers. Had the normal fe problems, big white blotches over crystals, etc. I got my brand spanky new Sapphire 7950 oc, had some trouble tracking down the 7900 drivers (they are 8.921.2 RC11 AMD Radeon™ HD 7900 driver ) I tried to load my save (I know, problematic at best, but it did load with my older 57
Well, since I haven't been able to finish a game, no more than 500 or so. One thing you need to do is to have the Ai kill the monsters in their territory. I level-up my champions by doing a non-aggression pact with one, then go and clean house around their cities, plus I don't lose any more caravans. Their sovs/champions are woefully under-powered by the time I clean up all around. And, as a matter of fact, the AI needs to recruit the stronger, later ga
I have some mid-game saves that load just fine, but after a certain point in the game, I can't load any saves, not even an older (younger?) one. In .76, i was able to save and reload at a point where the turn button/end turn no longer worked. At one point, the time before any movement happened was long, not just the auto-resolution results. I could go to task mgr and then back into the game again and the game would eventually pick up again, then the pace would go back to
As I ctd'd, I saw only one of my 5770's was being used. FE doesn't support crossfire?
I updated to 12.1 ati drivers, just to be up to date. I started a new game, and was moving my champ + hero hire, then ctd. Had also started a city/hamlet/village.
I was standing guard outside the wild-lands, waiting to upgrade my armor & weapons, so I could hit elite threat and suddenly found a hero from another faction in my stack. I moved the stack, thinking it was just passing through, but it came along with my stack. Is this a new feature, other players hero's tagging along to get exp points from my battles? It wasn't the leader, just one of the champions for hire, a baseline one, to boot, no experience.
We get a notice, but when I scan around, at least in my territory, I can't see any enemy armies. I can't go root out the bad guys that are attacking my caravans. Need a click exclamation mark thingee.
