It's will be like in SMAC where you could "obsolete" a ship which takes it off the build list. So let's say you'll never build a Starhawk or Defender again, if you obsolete the ship it won't appear as an option in your governor screen. This will be VERY nice to have.

I always get a dialog saying "are you sure you want to attack, this will put us at war with so and so" Might be an option to have this dialog pop up. Check the options (I would but I'm at work).
I had a natural 26 once that when I settled turned into 28 or something. Soil and Habitat improvement it was up to 32 I think. Got the later terraforming techs and it was boosted to 43 and then higher. That was an amazing planet for sure. :HOT:
Really it's called "summer time" for me. Family outings, yard work, garage sales and the like. I'm betting that Apolyton goes a bit more on the older side and thus many have families and other repsonsibilities. Not in high school or college anymore where I could play games 8+ hours a day! I'm lucky if I can complete even a short game in 2 weeks. Plus I'm sure many are in the new Civ 3 expansion beta, Rise of Nations is out and many other games to keep you busy. I'm actually about re
This response code is in 1.05. Good job. Are any of the older scores going to be recalced (is that even a word? ;p ) to 1.05? I wanted to redo my 2nd to last submission which was a military victory for 2200 or so. With 1.05 it's 9000+. But I already submitted it twice because of the issues I had last month. Oh well, no biggy really. Just means I gotta get my latest game done to boost my score! :HOT:
No biggy for me really. I just found it funny. I'd much rather have them move ahead on the next patch/expansion beta then worry about these scores. Our saved game data is on the servers so it can all be fixed in due time. No rush as far as I'm concerned.
Wow, what happened? Posted a score last night, was around 2300 or so. Today after the recalc it's -1452 (yep, negative). Pretty wild. Just making the powers that be aware of it as I've seen some other negative scores as well. Good luck!
Yea, that was my first game on a Huge map. Just wanted to try it as I usually play on large. It was fun to a point, lots of empire building, but boring in the end. My goal was to not fire a shot the entire game and other then taking over 2 minors and the I-League, I didn't have a single war with the majors. They all kept fighting each other like crazy (with my help of course!). My plan was to win by culture but that is much harder on Huge then smaller maps it seems. You have to g
Hmmm, I think you might figure it out. :HOT:
I build Battle Cruisers all the time. My last game I had an entire fleet of them, skipped Battleships and went to Dreds. The only thing a BC can't touch is a Dred. Might take 2 or three but you can knock out Battleships and Hammers with them along with Starbases that don't have tons of defense upgrades. Very usefull mid-game ship (at least for me). Plus it's very fast compared to a BS. I usually have Battle Axes on every system with a Hammer only on Sol, maybe one other very key pl
I would see it as: Earth Alliance = Terrian (Human Player of course) Mimbari = Torians Narn = Arceans Centauri = Alterians Vorlon = Yor Shadows = Drengin The League of Non-Aligned worlds are already in the game as the Independent Leauge (I-League). Precursor events would be from the "First Ones" (or whatever they were called).
Yea, I bowed to pressure and upgraded to Drengin when they had that $10 off special a while back. Figured it would be worth it for 3 reasons: 1) Get Gal Civ beta's early plus all other of their games for free (along with Political Machine coming soon) 2) Help Stardock with some additional moola. 3) The screen shot from E3 of that RPG (Elemental?) that is coming down the pike and if it makes it during my sub I get it free!
I was about to post that T-Man provided a fix to this just a few hours ago. Check out the sticky at the top about Metaverse issues. Glad you're all set.
T-Man, you *are* the man! That worked like a charm. Just so everyone knows what I did. I went to the player reg link T-Man provided above. I popped in my Drengin serial in the bottom box and clicked convert. Took about 20 seconds and it was done. Now my last two games appear in the Metaverse and I moved from 1100+ to 203 on the list. Pretty awesome! Thanks T-Man for figuring out the Drengin thing.
The biggest thing that affects morale is too big a population for the PQ of the planet. PQ boosters do wonders. You can have a PQ 15 planet with 48% morale. Raise it to PQ 17 and you'll probably have near 100% (unless population is really out of control). If it's late game and you still have a bunch of PQ 15, 16 and even 17 planets around with low morale with no more boosters in site, I just load up as much pop to a transport as I can and destroy the colony as it's a drag on my econo
I actually 2nd this request. I don't know how many times I have hit the enter key at various "done" prompts. Mainly because many other games have that keyboard shortcut (like Civ).
T-Man, I also have two games that failed, but I think I might have the same problem as someone else that you mentioned: I upgraded to Drengin.net at the end of March and since then none of my submitted scores show up. Nice catch. I'll keep an eye on this thread for your solution to this. Thanks!
T-Man, Just submitted a Military Victory with the latest release version. I have shutdown all firewall software (even though I submitted two games before) just to be sure. Do you see anything on your end for my game? Thanks!
T-Man, I had 2 games I submitted a couple weeks ago, both with latest 1.03A. I now have the latest 1.04 beta so I'll try to submit again tonight and post my results of failure or success.
Ahh yes. I had this same problem. If I remember correctly there is a bug in the latest release (1.03A) that causes this if a colony is destroyed and a ship had this as a home system. It is fixed in the 1.04 beta. If you have a drengin.net sub you can download and install the beta. Give it a try.
Starbases: Yes they extend range but you need to build them farter out. Farther away from the nearest planet the more range it will extend. Restart: I would restarted that game too most likely Expansion: I personally expand like this. I don't buy anything. Set Military to 85% and Research to 15%. Social to 0%. Government spending to 100%, taxes to 50%. Build nothing but colony ships on Earth. Should pump one out every 2 turns. New colonies should also do colony ship
Jackel, To see the beta, just go to View | Show pre-realease versions and you should be all set.
I wouldn't go that far Northwest Smith. Come on, the Metaverse is just a little add-on scoring latter. While I certainly would like my games to be posted, it definately doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the game.
Alterians and Arceans always dominate my games at Normal. Drengin usually aren't a factor. They might be in my current game but I haven't met them yet, only heard "rumors". :D Drengin definately are dominate on lower then Normal. I haven't gotten above Normal yet so I can't say about higher levels. And yes, the Yor are always nothing in my games. Stuck with 2 systems somewhere. Only once did they dominate a game (which I lost by the way).
Get some trade routes to that Civ ASAP. They are much less likely to declare war if they will lose a big chunk of their economy by losing the trade routes. Just another suggestion that works.
