A pull-down menu for the planetlist sort criteria... It's quite nasty to cycle through em by clicking that small triangle 10 times before you get where you want.
AILST
Never thought about this but Staffas point got me! Leases that last longer than an entire game are not senseful! I think everything more than 60 turns is too long! Make it like in the 1st suggestion but with only 60 turns...
to 1) I think the AI is written to colonize every 15+ PQ planet as fast as possible. Normally this results in no planets beeing left after a certain amount of time. In the beginning you also won't think about culture when colonizing and later on it's victim of it's code... However, I think that issue has to be looked at for the upcoming expansion set and the bombers that will be there and probably capable of freeing a planet from pop anyways... 3) I agree! 4) That could be made
There's another issue that I think was in all versions from the beginning on. It's about the minor races... How is their intelligence determined? I think it's always set to the same, regardless too what difficulty-level you are playing on. That way especially for less experienced players they put up a reasonable problem on the lower levels and especially in smaller galaxies, since they are quite likely to be more powerful than the majors. I think this should be changed. Make th
What difficulty setting are you plaing on? As you may have noticed you can only set the intelligence for the major races and so the minors will always run on the same level, which I think is intelligent. That can easyly make em more powerful than the majors, if those are not quite smart. I'd sugest to the designers that the IQ of the minors is determined by the average of the IQ of the majors! Otherwise easy games are screwed up by too powerful minors!
In my 2 submitted games I don't see map size as an important factor at all and that was under 1.03! On a huge map I got a score of slightly more than on a medium one. However I did much better in the Huge one (i could win in any way I wanted but did so by aliance) in the medium one i was only 3rd in power but could somehow convince all survivers to ally with me. I'll try to win a 1.04 game now and see how scoring has changed... Or did it also changed for older games? (
My last 3 victories all were Alliance victories. But they all were in 1.03. Beeing good helped me a lot. I was pure good in the first some and only chaotic good in the latter because I thought every pick has the same value but it seems that the positive alignment shifts for taking good things reduce when you've chosen bad things.
And where is the strategy to beat it?
I read those 3 month ago! And yes, they tasted well to me! :)
I think the thing with the cultural victory is not a bug... You can look at your Overall-Culture. If it drops to 89% the month is not counted. If it later goes over 90% again it proceeds counting the months. When there were 12 moth with you having more than 90% you win. Do you really mean YEARS??? Don't think so, 30 years are a damn lot of turns (360) in GC! The thing with the buildque is also not a new thing... However, I think aswell, that after finishing/purchasing
I have the same problem... As much as I like the game to be updated as often as possible but I was not even able to finish my 1st 1.04 game. For me the most important thing was the fix of the Crashbug with the ... erm whatever they call the Death-Stars in Galciv... ;p
@#6 can you please give a link to the changes.txt? I wanna know exactly what the changes are to be able experiencing it much more ^^
where is the changes .txt? Can't find it in my GC-Directory...
Wow, cool, they changed it to a cost of 3! Now you cannot combine it with Speed +2 anymore! Was that change in the beta aswell, or did this thread probably initialize that change? ;)
What Pre-Release? Where can I check/uncheck it? Found it and now can tell that it was not checked... [Message Edited]
1.04 is up now??? Sweeeeet! *sdcstart*
Hum... I hope startdock does not think, that the current result of the poll means, there's nothing left to do for them. :\
Since I miss a 4th option between option 1 and option 2 i'll vote for option 1 now, since at least some things with the AI need to be fixed, even though it already is quite challenging for me.
I've noticed the same thing... I however do NOT like that bug and want it to be fixed asap.
I created a very similar Thread yesterday but nobody posted in it. So now I am going to quote myself here: "I am really uncertain about what I shall select in the "In general I find GalCiv's computer players to be.."-poll I have not yet played Genius or Increadible, so I cannot select option 1. I also do not feel it to be right. For that it should be a bit harder on Intelligent. I shall lose 4/5th of my games on intelligent for it to feel right but it's only 1
I had that event twice but never saw them at my own. The Zoo was in another empire and that was almost so late in the game, that the monsters were eliminated quite quickly...
I do not build CT's on Planets with less than 15 B people. I do not build Transports on Planets with less than 3 B people. Bombers are anounced for the free expansion-set.
I just started a Thread about the very same thing! Nice to see, that I am not the only one who did not feel the right answer is there... That's just like the Zombie-Sodiers-Event, where usually none of the given answers fits my morality! LOL
I am really uncertain about what I shall select in the "In general I find GalCiv's computer players to be.."-poll I have not yet played Genius or Increadible, so I cannot select option 1. I also do not feel it to be right. For that it should be a bit harder on Intelligent. I shall lose 4/5th of my games on intelligent for it to feel right but it's only 1/2... But I definetly do not feel it to bee too hard! That would only be so, if I would also loose on the easie
#13, What AI-IQ Level are you talking about? From normal on upwards I've no longer seen the AI making totally senseless attacks, where they'd lose their ships in a 20:1 ratio... On Sub-Normal they however really seemed to love doing so!
