You are not allowed to ask a civ to attack another civ it has 'warm' or better relations with.

Well, if it is literally FUBAR, then there's not much point in asking them to fix it.
It's caused by one or more ships losing their assigned homeworld. It's happened to lots of people with 1.03. The bug is fixed (according to the readme) in 1.04, but for your game all you can do is email the same game files to CariElf at [email protected] and she will hopefully fix it for you and mail them back.

This is CariElf's email. I'd just go ahead and send it to her with your discription of what happens. [email protected]
This had me confused for a while as well. The problem is that the tech graph on the main screen and the tech ranking in the stats screen do not measure the same thing. The tech graph on the main screen only measure how much money you are currently spending on research. You can check this yourself by setting you research slider to 100% for a few turn, then a 0% for a few turns.
"Vanir: I think you missed the point." I assure you that I understood your comments regarding the volume. I was just making a tangential point.
Well, the Torian's sounds like a tune from a children's song, IMO. I agree the Yor theme doesn't fit the race description at all.
I think the Drengin music is the only one of the 5 worth listening to. The others all sound rather goofy, especially the Torians.
"Serious replies only please, not juvy bs." I'm not sure what "juvy" means, but my serious reply would be that it is unrealistic to expect the Metaverse to be a serious competition. GalCiv is a single player game, and is highly customizable which means people playing on normal/small galaxy are playing a much different game than someone playing gigantic/crippling. If your looking for serious competition against other people you're playing GalCiv for the wrong reasons. Go find a
I dont care about scores, or any other blah, blah, blah.
1.03.057: If you make peace with a civ you are at war with when one or more of their transports are less than one turn away from an undefended system of yours and were heading towards it, on the next turn the transport will invade the system anyway, starting the war again. This can be quite annoying if you just paid a king's ransom to get that peace...
What version of the game are you using? There is a bug in 1.03.057 that causes ships to lose their home system, which causes the save game to CTD when loading. If you email your savegame files to CariElf she can fix it for and mail them back. She did that for me and some other who ran into this problem. Although she may not be able to get to it this weekend. I think this bug is fixed in 1.04, but I don't think that will do you any good with your current game.
I never reseach corvettes. Starfighters are just as good for keeping your military rating up, so there is no incentive to climb the dead end corvette branch. If I get into a real war early I want to go up the defense branch to get defenders and battleaxes, not corvettes. I really think it's corvettes that need some boosting, not starfighters.
I don't have any repair modules yet. My +1% repair skill came from an anomaly, so it should affect everything empire-wide (I think).
Casual observation suggests that my starbases are repairing at a rate of about 1 hp per 3 turns. I have a +1% repair ability. If the starbases repair at even 1% of max hp per turn, that would be 1 hp per turn (they have 100 hp max). Is there a bug here?
I've never seen the AI blackmail other AI for techs in the debug log, only for cash.
CariElf: My game was started with 1.03A.057.
Salviati: I downloaded that codec you linked to, but it won't install. I get a message saying it can't find the correct file. I downloaded it a second time thinking it may have been a corrupted download, but it made no difference. There were no terror stars in my game, so it may not have been the same problem anyway.
Hmm, I've been playing will all bright AI, and I've found the minor civs to be a major cash cow, at least until all the other civs bleed them dry with blackmail. First thing I do when I meet one is blackmail them for hundereds of bc, then I sell them a bunch of tech for oodles of tribute. I almost feel guilty about it. One thing you can do, which may or may not be cheesey, is sell them one tech at a time instead of all of them at once. Making each tech you sell a seperate deal will get
"You do get a popup for war and peace..." Sometimes, sometimes not. I've even had war declared on me without being told about it.
Frogboy has said that saving sector influence would make the game save/reload slower, so fixing one problem would make the other worse. My casual observation has been that it doesn't take more than 5-10 turns for influence to get back up to speed, so it's not a big thing for me. It cetainly doesn't take hours of play. Then again, I play on medium maps. I suspect that in a game like this where you have tons of information and complex AI calculations, it is inevitable that gigantic games
I just ran into the 'CTD on loading saved game' bug. This is a game I've been playing for several days and have saved and reloaded numerous times. But suddenly it is now CTD every time I try to load it. This is with 1.03A.057. The only mods I'm running are 2 made by Frogboy. I just noticed that constructors do not show up in the ships area of the trade screen. Does anyone know why they are not allowed to be traded or given away?
Early in my game (1.03a.057) I blackmailed the Yor which put their relations to me down to "cool". Since then I have set up several trade routes to them and generally played nice, so now my relations with them have improved up to "warm" in the relations screen. However, when I am speaking to them and I press the botton below their picture that gives a summery of their civs view of my empire, where is states how they feel about me it says "they resent you". How can they resent me and hav
