And I don't think the Metaverse has room for two Canadian-themed empires.
I agree, but currently there is only one active one.
Call our Empire "The Geeks"
I would fit that description but I think that may alienate potential players. How about the "Free-traders Guild" for an empire name? Matthew could write his stories here with the them some where along the GC theme if he is interested?
Still no Briti
Why all this animosity towards the fun loving Guardians. We are not the reason for anyone to form an empire. If you have no internal goal or loyalty, then I predict that your empire efforts will not succeed the way you would like.
Weyrleader, I think that you are taking this out of context. Email or these electronic forums never convey the proper feeling or intentions of the poster. I applaud the guardians in their commitment to GC and players both. No one act

Matthew, I am not intested in a themed empire such as you suggest. I would however be interested in an empire that would try to take on the Guardians. Having some top names join such an empire could help draw existing players to a new empire. Would a name change to my empire help draw people to it? I do not have to be the empire owner either, right now it is just convenient. I just chose this empire name so that my stats would show up in the Alternate Metave
The only reason why I did not join the Guardians is because the really do not need me. Join the Guardians you do not have to compete because you are already the Top Ranked Empire.
Exactly the reason I did not join the Guardians. They are a great club of people but they are already way out in the lead. I to would like to be part of an empire that is active and not bloated with non active members. This is basically the reason I started the Crazy Canucks. <B

A cheesy way to slow or stop the flip to another AI is to save your game every turn or two. Your planet makes a saving throw at the start of every turn to see if it flips. So if it does flip just restore the game. Unfortunately if the influence from another AI is quite a bit higer than yours you may not be able to prevent your planet from flipping to the other side.

One other thing, center your screen on the sector that your planet is in. Then at the top of your screen on the right side there are two small icons. Clicking on one of them will show how much influence each race is inflicting on your sector/planets. And another thing, the skull is a sign that your planet is being influenced and may flip to the other side as you know. This skull will not go away from your planet ever even when your influence in that sector is larger than the other ra

I will have to step in here and make a statement. As founder of the Crazy Canucks empire and having on more than one occasion publicly stated that I believe Tech may be insane I feel that that his problems are a figment of our imagination and that he really is alright. Then again ... our empire starts with the word Crazy ... :SURPRISED:
I am slowing down playing only one or two masos some nights.
hehe, except that Tech just posted 7 games in 2 days! If that is slowing down I can't wait to see what he posts when he plays normal. ;) LOL
Right. So, adding cultural improvements doesn't increase the civilization-level bonus you get from the mined resource.
That is correct. Peace' statement is correct. For any resource, when you add mining modules to that resource you get improvements civilization wide. When you build cultural improvements those improvements affect the sector that the starbase is in and then there are "spill over" culteral affects in the surrounding sectors.<b
and cultural wins are not possible at the Maso level so I tend to stay with the alliance win.
I would disagree with that statement. Although I have never submitted a cultural win at MASO, you can definitely achieve one on Tiny/Small/Medium maps. If the scores were worth it I could play my games quite a bit faster by going with the cultural win. Alliance wins with Tiny/Small/Medium maps are not worth that much either.

I am not sure what you are asking for but perhaps these links can help you out. This one will help determine when you should post your score for maximum metaverse points. http://paguma.no-ip.org-galciv-galtest.html For these to work for you, you need to be part of an empire. http://altmeta.galciv.org/ http://statbot.galciv.org [Message Edited]

Stardock, please do a recalc on the people listed at the top of this thread. They seem to have an immunity to the aging process. If aging is to happen at least lets make it fair for all involved. [Message Edited]
Hopefully one day some of you will. Newf your advice seems to be some org and good tips. Some I never heard of before.
I firmly believe in posting my tips and advice to the stardock forums here because it is where most newbies and players congregate. This is where I got my start so I like to contribute as much back to the players. I will check out your website though.
