Ok, heres my motto submission G.R.O.S.S - Follow the trail of dead aliens.

generally by the time your losing planets, its pretty much to late to stop the avalanche in that sector. In your other sectors, start building starbases with cultural improvements, this will prevent them from being converted. You can also build/buy world improvements that posses 'cultural resist' such as news center.
No, if you have 0-3 apples Apple 0 is your first apple apple 1 is your 2nd apple apple 2 is your 3rd apple apple 3 is your 4th apple There is a sector 0,0 That is the first sector, sector 0,23 is the 24th sector in that row. There are actually 25 gridlines counting the outer ones
In reference to #372 A gigantic is 24 by 24, the counting starts at 0 not 1. 0-23 is 24 sectors.
Great idea, but for this to be 'interesting' you would have to allow people to pick their own racial makeup for this pregenerated map. This is currently not supported and I do not know how much work it would require, though it need not be impossible.
Im curious how the AI is managing morale on some of its systems I culturally flip. I take a 16 pq planet with influence that has 30 billion people on it. Its morale is so god awful low that I have to unload half the pop and rush buy about 4 improvements before its not a threat to goto the I-league. Exactly how does the AI manage to get planets like this? My best guess is that one of the AI's does not have to deal with morale, perhaps the cyberneti
A cultural win occurs win you have most of the sectors under your domination for over a year. When you culturally flip the last opponants colony you techinically win by military conquest, not culture.
My longest game lasted until 2210, which is also my highest scoring game. Most games end around 2198 or earlier on a gigantic map for me.
The idea is to replace population count with PQ count the concept is that they measure the same thing, which is relative control over the current galaxy. If you want to look at it as a ratio of control and have it modify score that way(thus negating the bonus for using a more abudant universe) that would be fine. But no, your logic is flawed, lots of good planets does not mean its easier to win, they are just as good for the AI as well. A different game pe
15 is considered habitable, techinically without racial bonuses or special events, any 10 pq world can get to 15 through normal world improvements. As a general rule I colonize everything 12+ and will colonize anything 9+ in an enemies sector if doing a cultural bomb.
It wouldnt be _that_ fast, I mean the atomposhere doesnt freeze at night. Would take several days at least.
For a God, you do not grasp thermodynamics very well. The atompshere would not instantly freeze with the suns absense.
I used corveettes, military the opponants never mounted any type of defense, I destroyed mostly colony ships and after I simply declared war with all the computers at once to try to blackmail them into giving me systems(I had all their planets surrounded by corvettes) it was simply a matter of waiting literally 5 years for my pop to grow enough to load transports and drop them on the planets they wouldnt give me for 'peace' My mistake were 3 I can thin
I have beaten the game on masochistic following those rules you outlined
Well, techinically I would say being able to see yellow stars and resources on the map without scouting for them is cheating. But I forgive you that, as search algothrithms are very difficult to write.
In general I don't like the idea for many reasons, though one simple one is as previously mentioned the frequency of habital planets is not accounted for properly. This system heavily favors using the lowest frequency which while its a different game, is not more difficult and thus shouldnt be worth more points. Basicily the formula needs to be different for different frequency settings or better yet just directly related to the AI's position.
Uploaded a military victory, my first military victory ever, probably should have practiced a few games before but its all for fun. Result was Feb 2186, pretty crappy, seriously underestimated the pop I need for troop ships. Lost some troop fights towards the end by like 50 million :( cost me several turns.
Im not saying PQ should be the biggest determinante in calculating score. Im only saying it should replace population. All the other factors that determine score can still be used but where population was in the formula, replace it with PQ. #5 soralis I like the idea of using PQ as a percentage of galactic max and think it has many great advantages for putting map size and abudancy on an equal footing, but im concerned that this might reward the 1 hour
Well, if the scoring penality for 'allowing' an alien race to transcend was signifigant(and it should be) then I really dont think this would be exploitable.
Yea Ellestar, I can see the merits in that, it would eliminate what little milking was possible. Would also eliminate racial PQ bonus towards scoring though currently they benefit from an inherent pop advantage due to the PQ and hence they would be slightly nerfed by that. I def dont think you can count the base PQ, as I dont want to encourage people to colonize pq 6 worlds with 1 million people just for a few points. Unless you meant something el
Wonder what that little gray icon that says 'posted via stardock central' when you mouse over it has something to do with his ability to edit? wonder what it means.
He means he cant rememeber the last time he lost an election. He maintains his morale to such an extent that its never an issue for him. He likely maintains that morale because it improves his growth rate signifigantly and that can be vital to an empires success well beyond any bonus's that you gain from your government type, which btw would not include racial pick bonuses that got you to that 50% economics, those bonuses are quite safe.
Heh, I asked myself the same question 30 seconds ago( about edits), but I think that might be one of the Admin only functions that Frogboy mentioned cause I dont see any button for it.
People who are milking pop already do this(the back rushing to fill all the planets). The difference is that at least people are doing 'SOMETHING' when they are backfilling their planets, also the way I set up the score, backfilling 20 worlds that will end at 16- 18 pq after improvements will be worth about 35 points, or about one 35 PQ world. Ie not very much. All the planets that will be worth good points will already be colonized by you or the computer and
Well, I have one of the bigger scores on the metaverse and I have never touched a mod. I know a few of the other players in the top 10, and I doubt they have either. It surely isnt neccesary to use a mod to get a high score.
