What did confuse me at the beginning is that the "Mining" category on the bottom does contain modules which increase military and social production. This is the same thing the modules in the "Economic" category do. These effects are only active on planets in the same sector. Only when you build the starbase on a galactic ressource (these colored minerals) you can build mining modules here. These are effective civilization wide and can be very very helpfull. (You already gain 5%

That's what I found in my links: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81564&perpage=20&pagenumber=3 http://geocities.com/russellmz/AAR-GOTM-May.html One of the most active sites is: http://www.neotechgaming.com/viewforum.php?f=182
All Stardock certified mods should be fine. I found only one exception. When you use more than one mod and your planet quality ability gets above 40% (i.e. your society ability, not the local planet PQ boosters, you can check that in the "Domestic policy -> Stats" screen. There are parties, improvements and technologies which improve PQ.) you get a abnormal flag, i.e. zero points in Metaverse. Not certified mods are usually fine as well. I did not have problems yet. Does anyone have a e
Only active players do lose points. Wasn't a regular recalculation invented and if so what is the period? And if not, whom could we ask to start another recalculation?
When you follow the tips you can catch up with the AI up to "Intelligent" without problems. The keys are: - keep moral at 100% at the beginning to get the doubled population growth - diplomacy. i.e. only research what nobody has and exchange it clever (trade with the minors first, then try to get techs only one AI has etc.) - at the beginning concentrade your little ressources i.e. 100% military until you got enough colony ships, when you need a tech try to get it in one turn etc.
Hi Mage246, check the Strategy forum. There are a lot of tips. e.g. in http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GS&id=203560#203852 And yes, do not rush buy. It's way to expensive and not necessary.
Aging is still a problem. I lost score after submitting two 60k games. I know that this is normal and can happen. But others who don't submit anymore do not loose points for month. Only active players do loose points. Does anybody know if the Metaverse recalculation was a singular action or if it is done on a regular basis. And if so what is the period?
One major problem is that the patches via Stardock Central don't work together with the localizations. This is one thing which really needs a solution for GC2. Please discuss that with your publishers and find a technical solution.
When you buy one project and finish another in the same turn it is possible. But minors don't build trade goods since some time ago. I guess you are on a very old patch level, right?
@TheFloh Es müssten zwei Seriennummern dabei sein. Eine mit GC in der Mitte und eine mit AP. Zumimdest bei der englischen Deluxe-Version war das so.
Right click on the game icon and choose properties. There you should find the folder where the game was installed. Was that your question?
I would recommend to install it completely from Stardock central. When you mix localized versions and the English version it can lead to problems.
There is a new completely localized version of AP.
Yes, that's what the developers told us.
Hi Zerg_Food, what about joining an empire? There are several nice empires here and some of them are still active :D http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GE Could it be that the force is with you? Maybe the Jedi Republic is the right place for you. http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=336 http://jedi.galciv.org/ But be warned the dark side of the power is very present. Actually we have several Sith in our ranks. ;p
SDC shows a history which mentions the new minor update. There was no change to the game, just a new packaging of a .dll.
Hi Nasty, that's not the game. Your machine is sick :notsure: I did not have crashes with hughe maps and my machine had lower specs (see above).
To become the tech leader you need a diplo bonus. I always choose it in the start options. Tech boni are irrelevant, I try to get starbases on those ressources later. At the beginning I'm very bussy with colonizing. I don't research anything. When I got some free ressources I only research Communication and Universal Translator. When all the colony ships are on the way I look through all AIs (including minors) and make a list off all techs they have. Then I re
I never heard of this problem. But I have no experience by myself since I'm always the good guy :D Maybe one of the Siths lurking around here could tell us if they experienced this problem, too :notsure:
Yes I forgot to mention that you should switch of the auto save option :SURPRISED: This is the most important step. Save when you feel it is necessary or when you need to wash you hands anyway ;p I did only play two or three games on gigantic maps and yes, the turns did take some time in the end game. But I still did enjoy it. With hughe it was a lot better and I did play many games on hughe with the options mentioned above. And I did have only 192 MB and a K6-III+ @
I don't agree with Peace Phoenix. (This does not happen very often since he's one of the most experienced and helpfull persons here.) On your PC even hughe should not be a problem. Just gigantic is a bit too heavy in the late game. But you could still give it a try. You need to switch off all the "follow ship", animate and explosions options. I personally run this scenario for a long time. Another tip which helped me a lot on big maps once you got some speed b
Does your serial have the letters GC or AP? The one with GC is for Galactic Civilization, the one with AP is for Altarian Prophecy. On some retail boxes these two got interchanged. But I wonder which serial you do have when there is only one on the box?
You can load your EndGame.sav any time and submit again.
And there are some mods with technologies/wonders/projects which increase your civilization PQ ability (don't mix it up with the local PQ ability due to Habitat improvement etc., these effect add up). You can look up your abilities in the Domestic Pocilcy -> Stats area. But be carefull, civilization PQ ability above 40 % will lead to anomalous scores in Metaverse, i.e. you can't submit your game.
It did work for me about 2 weeks ago. As far I know you can resume the download. Did you try that?
