You can choose different combat tactic on the attack screen. They cost a severak thousand BC and can decrease the planet PQ or destroy some improvements. In the library are some mods available with additional tactics ... You should form a fleet of your transports. This way you only need to pay once for the tactic. One variation is to invade with a fleet of a insufficient number of transports and use one of these bad PQ decreasing tactics. When you loose the negative ef
Walldorf2000
Wonderful :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: I like your mods very much. I will definitely download it when it is available.
Warning: do not use speed accelerators in sectors where your Trade Terror Star will pass. They do affect the mini frighters but not the terror star. Thus the terror star can not catch up.
Speed acceleraters should not affect mini frighters >:( I hope that this is different in GC2. This way you should not use trade and acceleration modules in the same sector i.e. you can never use speed accelerators in sectors where mini frighters pass by. Speed acceleraters do not affect terror stars. Thus it gets even worse when you want to use the Trade Terror Star: http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GS&id=123185 [Message Edited]
(or should I say little Stardock's pet?)
When you used the same tone in your mails, I'm not suprised that noone did answer you first time. It happened several times on my desk that customer requests (I don't tell you my company ;p ) did get "lost". I was so suprised about what they wrote that I accidently let them fall into the waste paper basked :HOT: Remember that the person who reads your mails has personal feelings, too. I'm happy that ther
@CrusherX7: You can destroy your own colony. There is a button on the planet screen. @KSesler: What you can do is to colonize low PQ planets. When I have terraforming wonder etc. I frequently colonize even PQ 12 planets (they need to get them at last to PQ 15, otherwise you have this 5BC panelty per month). But when it is near the end and I need some events, I even colonize lower planets to get the saintly morality. I have installed the saints and sinners mod to reach
I liked the MOO2 atmosphere, the spies, the variable tech tree and the ship design. But on the long run GC is more variable and more fun. The main difference it the AI which is much more sophisticated. Conclusion: both are great games but GC is my favorite
I buy transports from time to time. I can be very handy. But I never thought of giving them the ships to get them loaded. Nice idea :D For the log. When someone reads this you need to keep in mind that: - on higher levels the AI is very easily obset when a you have warships in their sectors. - when you plan to buy a couple of ships, buy them in one step. When you already have warships near by their planets (i.e. from your first deal) they will refuse another deal
These events appear from time to time. But I never had 35 points increasement :SURPRISED:
For the windowed version you need to do two things. First your must set your color depth (in the windows settings for your desktop it is named color quality) of your screen to 16 bit. Then create a shortcut for your galciv.exe and add a w after galciv.exe, i.e. it should look like "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming.net\AltarianProphecy\GalCiv.exe" w
I don't know it exactly. I don't build these stuff since it's too expensive. It's much better to intercept the transports before they reach their destination. But I assume that these improvements do only affect the part of the population which lives on the planet where it is build. I would only build one on the planet with the highest population. Does anybody know how it works? [Message Edited]
Do you use an analog cable or a digital? This sound like a synchronization problem with an analog connection. You should really use a DVI cable when your computer offers a digital output (A 20" LCD should have it anyway, i.e. there are two different connectore. Look up your manual in case of doubt. The connectors should have a description there). When you have connectors on both computer and monitor but no cable you should really buy a DVI to DVI cable. It costs about 5-15$ an
When you don't want to loos you have several options. You need to ally with all remaining AIs to end the game. e.g. ally with the Dregin and culture flip* all others. Or build excaliburs and terror stars and whipe them out. Or ally with all of them (give them gifts every three month, like technology, money e.g. 500BC fo 50 month or even planets and ressources, until they offer an alliance) * - build culture palaces in sectors adjacent to theirs - build all influence wo
Yes it's very helpfull to have people like PP in a forum. In other forums you get answers like "You should really know that by yourself"; "Google is your friend" etc. :d We had some heat here but nothing serious. Overall this place is very kind and helpfull.
Yeah these aliens have a very strange kind of fighting wars ;p I liked this feature in MOO2. This feature was discussed several times but never implemented. You should know that there are only limited development ressouces and a game should not be too complex. Thus you need to focus. Maybe they will improve GC2 at this point.
When I read about the AI improvement through metavers I never thought of an automatic feature like neural networking. What I understood is that the developers look from time to time in the strategies of the top players. And I think that this is exactly what happened. The AI got counter-strategies for popular human strategies. Culture bombing got harder, the Arceans got an alternative technology strategy etc. But as I said before this will not happen for GC1 anymore.
I don't think that there is such an option and I would not use it LOL You are right, it's tedious to build all these constructors and send them to their destination. But what else do you want to do with your waste production when you need to build one ship on one of your planets? Ressources add very high boni. Thus I use them. Just concentrate on a few ressources after the colonization rush and collect the others when the AIs destroy the starbases of their counterparts during
You made an excellent choice. You won't see many action in this game and you need some patience. But when this is o.k. for you you will never regret that you buyed this one.
The AI did improve a lot and some cheese was removed. But I doubt that they will continue to tweak GC1 since GC2 is already in beta. Currently the Metaverse is nothing but a ranking system. You can join an Empire to get even more ranking :D
Willkommen Knight Du solltest Dir die aktuelle englische Version runterladen (Du brauchst nur Deine Seriennummer). Danach kannst Du Ichos Patch installieren. Dadurch bist Du die blöde Kopiersperre (CD wird verlangt) der deutschen Version los.
:CONGRAT: Welcome redfox62 :CONGRAT: You already "used" the empire by submitting a game :D When you are a member of an Empire your score does not only add to your player but to your empire as well. Check the Metaverse button on top of this side. To get in contact with the Empire you can use the Empire Thread in the Empire forum http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GE&id=130416 Don't forget to visit the empire site http://jedi.galciv.org/ :CONGRAT:
Hi redfox62, you are very welcome to join the Jedi Empire * http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=336 But be warned. The dark side of the force is very powerfull and even a Jedi is not immune :SURPRISED: We need assistance to keep our 3rd place :CONGRAT: * Basically empires are nothing else as a list of players who join their score to compete on an additional level. A simple "join" click is all what you would have to do. But empires are more tha
When the aliens get the last tech first they win. I always have this option disabled and thus never had this happen. (I guess it would never happen when the option is enabled as well LOL ) I don't know how much it influences the strategies of the AI. Does anybody know? Maybe I should give it a try. :notsure:
That's not cheating, that's a stupid AI LOL
Did you complete the building and payed 5.000 BC? When you just add one or two terror star modules it is still in constuction and thus useless. When it's finshed it looks like a nice metal ball ;p
