Civilization ability of 40% PQ is fine. 41% is not! I had a anomaly pack installed. One of them was a PQ bonus anomaly. My ship ran in one and I got 41% :sniff!: I deleted the anomaly and reduced your "Submolecular Enviromental Manipulator" to 4% PQ. I don now end up with 40% (only Final Frontier left) and that's fine.

The Force is with you. Join the Jedi ... ;p
For gigantic maps I usually make the same thing as Peace Phoenix: - save the game - turn cheat code on - reveal the Map (CTRL + U) - get stellar cartography (CTL + SHIF + S for all tech) - analyse the map on the tactical screen (F9) But I do some more - screen capture with Alt+Print - paste in a picture editor (freeware like IrvanView is sufficient) - crop the tactical map - transform to nebative (i.e. black becomes white etc.) - sharpen the pictu
The only tip I could give you is to wait to colonize the PQ 7 planet (since it will cost you lots of money) until another colony ship can use the extended range.
Yes that's a good hint. Build the ship dedicated for the distant planet first. Then build the ship for the range extention with 1 m colonists. Colonize one turn before the other ship reaches the border of it's range (extention needs one turn to be effective). Disband the colony right after the distant planet is reache
1. Unfortunately I have no idea. Do you have AI ship battles on in your options? 2. You possibilities are - research (check JavaScout's site for relevant techs http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm) - ability picks or parties with range - colonizing minor planets (that's what you did) - building starbases (they can but don't need to be on a ressource)

I recognized that there are several "double accounts" to "work around" the metaverse calculation rules. Does anybody have a overview how many players are active and how many use "double accounts"? No doubt they won the race anyway. But why do they cheat this way? Or is cheating the wrong word? I'm not a native speaker and don't want to offense anybody.
Check the LIBRARY button on top of this page. There are a few. Or check this one http://www.neotechgaming.com/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2055&sid=95cef3a38a926ef97ee6536af700d36e
That should do it.
But remember that it does only work when your display mode is exactly 16bit color with a resolution above 1024 by 768.
Did you buy the Deluxe Edition? If so, did you read the sticky threat about key problems with the Deluxe Edition?
AFAIK you can't get it from Stardock. :p It's not packed by them but from their publisher. From Stardock directly you can download (CD is sent optionally) GC and AP separately. The advantage of downloading it is that Stardock directly get's the fee and not publishers, shops, middlemen etc. Only this way it is possible for a small firm like Stardock to fund these great games.
Battles of one by one take minutes :sniff!: It's not a sound problem. It's grafics. Switch off ship battles and AI ship battles and you don't have the problem amy more.
Yes, I would never use IE for browsing on the internet. It is a security nightmare (You can't switch off ActiveX without to switch off JavaScript. JavaScript is needed on many places but ActiveX is an open gate for malware.) It's a pitty that QUOTE and other features don't work here. It works in other forums :notsure:
!!! WARNING !!!
The pq 40% trigger only works till a certain time.
Unfortunately this is not true for the 40% PQ border. (AFAIK it is true for the cash border. Any other examples?) I just got an anomalous score for a very long lasting epic game (:( . I checked my social stats and I had 41% PQ :SURPRISED: . I reloaded a saved game before I researched Omega Tech (which gives 10% PQ, i.e. I had 31%) and I could submit it without problems. Thus
Those two issues takes a huge chunk out of the fun of playing GC/AP for me. Please fix them. As it is now, I often find myself wasting a lot of time fighting the UI, In stead of enjoying actually playing the game and fighting the AI.
Yes, it's the same for me. I can live with 1) but 2) really hurts. You can never be sure if you get a tech or nor (:(
[Edit]Missed Walldorf's 'take your time' line  oops lol.[/Edit]
:) Yes you can leave your empire whenever you want and you can join another empire whenever you want. Most empires are open.
You should not buy ships or improvements. This is very expensive. Build them instead. To do so you have to adjust the sliders on the economy screen. There is one sliders for taxes, one which controls the total amount of spending and underneath there are three sliders to allocate you spending: "Military" = Ship construction "Social" = Improvement building "Research" = Research When you set Military and Total spending to 100% you can e.g. build a colony ship ev
Hey my very first submission!
Hi Astorax, gratulations. This is the time to look for an empire to join ;) Check the empire forum (button on the left) and the Metaverse (on top). You can find many interesting empires there. Check out the empire home pages, too. Some of them are very well done. Personally I joined The Jedi Republic some days ago. http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=336 Take your time to m
It gives you higher scores because the extra races make the game more difficult. Only takes a few games to adjust to problems presented by the extra races though.
Which problems? My experience with alliance win is: more races is more options to trade and use diplomacy. In my opinion it would be harder to win against three majors than against five or seven. :p Again the question: which morality do you give to the AI when you go for an alliance win?
Do you need Altarian Prophecy to get 60k on hught/rare Yes.
That's a sad thing. I would never order Altarian Prophecy to get the higher scores. >:( I'm just glad that my order is already on the way LOL
On levels above intelligent the AI has some advantages like productivity, influence, diplomacy, planet quality. In short: everywere :HOT: But when you concentrate your powers on the important tasks you can manage to colonize and grap resources as good as the AI. Just forget about social building or technology. Do one after the other at the beginning.
I just submitted a alliance win. In Jan 2190 I allied with all 5 AI. But the score was only about 38k on a hugh map with rare/tight(:( . All AI were set to incredible, two on evil and three on good. I had several trade goods and wonders and was leading by tech and population. What went wrong? Do you need Altarian Prophecy to get 60k on hught/rare, or do I need to ally before January?
Hi Tech et al. which morality do you choose for the AI?
Check JavaScout's page, it's very usefull. http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/index.htm
You can change the default governer on the details screen of a planet. Thus you can have different build queues for different needs. I usually have two or three govereners active.
