MGiff, I can use .jpg with WB as well. What we're talking about is making the Wallpaper part of the WB Skin as Chad described in #8, or as part of a .suite using Theme Manager. In either case, the constraint imposed by the software is .bmp. If you're saying that you have had WB apply a .jpg wallpaper through the WB skin, I'd like to know which version of WB and which version of the OS you are using please. I'd also like to know which skin you are using if it's one from here, and if not,

The problem is not with Theme Manager per se, it's a Windowblinds issue. For some reason which has not really been explained anywhere as far as I know, though often asked about, WB can not install wallpapers unless they are bitmaps. Unfortunately, quite a few theme authors don't realize this when they upload the .theme or .suite file, and there is no way to know it until you try to apply the .theme or .suite. The other problem is that .suite 'authors' in many cases are NOT the authors of the el

You can do this through the Sysmetrix Configuration dialogue. Under "Preferences", click on "Positioning". The first box gives you the option to use theme specific positioning. If you want all themes you use to dock in the same place, leave this unchecked. The second checkbox should be checked ONLY if you don't want windows to cover your Sysmetrix when maximized. The H,V offset spinners which are immediately below the second checkbox allow you to move and position your

#22 by Çërêb®øJÐ - 3/5/2004 9:54:36 AM Yeah its better, but I still think that you should have your logo and site info overlayed on the actual screenshot. Maybe just have a white box in an empty area with all your stuff there. Alternatively, you could create a small document or image file, and open a window with that document/image displayed,

If this happened a year ago, and you have hijacked another members thread to bring it up again, then in my opinion, you deserve the label of troublemaker, and have no one to blame but yourself. Regardless of the circumstances of the original incident, nothing justifies any of your posts on this thread. I infer from your posts here that you have addressed this year-old issue with the site admins at some point and apparently were not satisfied with their decision. Sorry about that, but no

Frederick, First of all, I would suggest that it might be more professional and effective to email Brad (Frogboy) with your questions/proposal. If you click on the 'About" link under resources in the left column of this site you can find a link to email him. As to your second question, since I have not downloaded the theme, I would guess that the work area may be reduced to avoid covering some objects when the browser is opened. With the theme loaded, make sure you are in Edit

Ask the author for permission if you plan to upload them here Actually, you should ask the author(s) for permission if you plan to do anything with them other than use them on your own computer.

Quite honestly, Adam, the problem with your screenshots isn't the image format. It's the layout of your shots. They are beautiful shots, very professional in appearance for print . But, they are, on average, twice as big as they need to be. They have way too much white space, and your logo, email, etc, take's up almost as much room as the real image people want to see. Why not make your logo and contact info overlay the shot and get rid of the white space? That way you could cut the image

Don't get your coat too soon, Sput... The FAQ's haven't been updated in quite a while, either. And a significant amount of the info is incorrect and out of date. I'm sure it's well down on the list of priorities though, and I know from experience that it can be a pain. Maybe when the new WC is launched this summer things will be brought up to date.

As Maggot said, you need to change this in the Sysmetrix configuration dialogue. In the left panel, click on 'Textual Information'. This will change the center panel. Click on '21-Generic Text.' This will change the right panel. About halfway down this panel, you will see a 'Prefix' text entry box. The 'f:' you want to change is in that box. Just d e l e t e that entry and type what you want. Don't forget to save the theme afterwards. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif"

I agree that 128 bit should be included for the IconX users out there. Quite a few icon authors also include the .png files for those using Object Dock as well. I doubt if that would make a difference in the GUIO's but it might make the package more popular among the general public. Just a suggestion, and good luck in the competition.

Further to Stumpy's post, that pink circle most likely came from partially transparent pixels on the edge of your circle which blended with the magic pink color when you merged layers, or "flattened" the image to save it as a bitmap file. My guess is you created your circle either as a vector graphic which uses antialiasing to create a smooth line, or you had antialiasing enabled on your raster drawing tool. That antialiasing is accomplished by blending pixels at the edge with the backg

The point is, legaught, that your plea sounds very much like that of an addict or someone caught doing something illegal or unethical trying to justify their actions. All of the people on that list are famous, or perhaps infamous, for being caught up in the public eye because of something they did, and at one point or another denying it, or attempting to make it seem like less of an offense. Your plea... "please, this one time..." made me think of that. Crossing a line, doing something

I've had to abandon having the furry edge free against the background as I'd missed the fact that the start menu isn't always shown against the wall paper of course! D'oh I infer from this comment that the fur effect on the edges is made up in part of alpha-blended pixels, thereby preventing you from using magic pink to get the freeform shape? An
