I'm bumping this thread to ask if anyone can tell me whether one can make a UIS1 subskin for a UIS2 skin. The reason I'm asking is that I've been working on my first WB skin for a while, trying to perfect it, then saw this thread and one similar, and am now discovering some problems with a few apps, ACDSee and MSN9 among them. If it's possible, then I'd like to include the UIS1 version as a subskin of my UIS2 skin.

For the record, the 4th link in my post #3 of this thread is a Skin Studio tutorial by Aleksyander. The 2nd link in that post is full of tips and hints for using Skin Studio. The 3rd link is a thread containing many more links for tutorials useful in skinning. The 5th and 6th links are also for skinning tutorials and guides.

Then you may well be out of luck for now. I wasn't able to get it to work on my sister's Dell computer either. You could try emailing Alexander or try posting a request on the MBM forum. The links for both are available on the mbm.livewiredev.com homepage.
The short answer is no, for copyright reasons, and the guidelines of this site. If you need an explanation, read here: https://www.wincustomize.com/guidelines.asp and here:https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=243365

More often than not, the wallpaper shown in the preview of a windowblinds skin is not included in the windowblind skin that you download. If the wallpaper is included in the skin, the author's comments will usually say that it is included. If the wallpaper is uploaded separately, the authors will sometimes give a link to it in their comments. If neither is the case, click on the [Comments] link below the author's comments and read them to see if a link is provided. If no link is provi

Great news about the servers... But, can we talk about those cases? Man, they definitely need a new skin.
VooDoo, Corel is unfortunately similarly priced to Adobe PS, and the way they are packaging the product lately makes it worse, because I'm paying for a lot of little apps that I really don't care for just to get CorelDraw. But I still like CorelDraw enough that it's worth the investment to me. As for PSP, I remember the PSD problem you refer to, with PSP6 if I remember correctly, but I don't recall any insurmountable issues in PSP7 and I know there are no PSD issues with PSP8
I've been using Photoshop since V3, and though the program has grown by leaps and bounds since then (along with the price ), I would agree with Jerry that it's never been my favorite drawing program. I also recently bought PSP8, and given the improvements in this version, Adobe is going to have to go along way to convince me to lay down the big dollars for PhotoShop again. I agree with Travis o
Old Crab, Though I plead guilty to attempting a bit of levity, I don't feel I was either disrespectful or impolite. And the links I posted are quite valid and useful I believe to someone new to WC and/or Windowblinds. Perhaps if you read a few of the other posts by csurfside, you might understand my post a bit better.
This is about the best explanation I have found for the differences between UIS1, UIS1+, and UIS2: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/skinning/ Towards the bottom of the menu are the references I believe you're looking for. Caution: This site has not been updated in a while so it's not a completely reliable reference, in my opinion, but it's a decent start. I personally haven't found it to be in error so much as incomplete.

The most common resolutions are (w x h): 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 960, 1600 x 1200, arranged by most to least common. Although 800 x 600 is still the most common resolution in use by the general public, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 960 seem to be the more popular of those who comment regularly here. As for sizes of certain elements, dabe gave you some sound advice when she suggested you take apart some skins you like and see what makes them tick. In the long run you'll learn more than yo
#33 by T-Man - 2/17/2004 9:51:03 PM Yo surfside, relax. I will look at it again tomorrow when I am in the office. The second email from me literally was as I was getting to walk out of the office for the day so I really didn't have time to look into it. So sit back and relax for a few hours. It will get taken care of. If T-man said it, you can take it to the bank. I understand your fru

csurfside, My most humble apologies for the broken link. Please use this link: https://www.wincustomize.com/faq/ When you get there, press the small square blue button with the word 'Go" on it. Deep dark secrets will then be revealed. P.S. the button may not be blue, but the rest of the directions are accurate. I won't explain. Someday understand you will. [Messag
Randy, there is no way, at least no way of which I am aware, to change one's real name (Author:) on one's profile. So if you have a typo, or for some reason change your name, (marriage, divorce, witness protection program, etc.), one cannot change this information without the intervention of an Admin, as far as I know. BTW, the same goes for the entries for State and Country. According to my profile, I still appear to be in KY, when I actually escaped from there months ago. <img src="ht
More patience you must have, young Padawannabe. Surely someone, who has been coming to this site since it started, and waited while 751,225 other people became members before you joined, has the patience to wait a bit longer to become a Master. And doing what you have been in all that time? Read not any of the other threads on this topic you have? Read these you must: htt
DessertEagle... I apologize in advance for the off-topic post, but curiosity overwhelms me. I am a real dessert lover myself, and in fact consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of confections. What exactly is a Dessert Eagle, and how does one attain such a title?
