Kromiumsun- I saw CursorFX's ControlPanel's load time visibly increase as I added cursor themes in chunks of say 20 or so at a time. It's not like there is a magic point, but the number of themes clearly affects the load time. I've seen this mentioned in another post somewhere (I don't feel like fishing it out right now), and I believe Stardock is aware of the load speed and has figured out a way to fix it, and intends to do so pretty quickly, like really pretty quickly. I kn

I'm reading a lot into your post, but see if this reflects what you're doing. Since you say you're saving the widgets (these are the ".exe" widget programs, right?) in with your desktops, I'm concluding that you're using the desktopX "import" function to load your widgets. The .exe widgets don't usually save with the desktop using the desktopX "save" or "save as" otherwise. The widgets are designed to be run with a standard shortcut or by double-clicking on them, just like any

I agree that that customer base has most likely expanded and shifted. This would hopefully be a good thing. A couple of observations that might help make everyone's life better all around: In the support forum, stickies were created for SkinStudio and Windowblinds feedback. I think that's an excellent idea, it would likely be good to add more of those for the major products. It's not too late to add one for CursorFX. I could be wrong, but it seems like a fair percen

Kromiumsun if I were you I'd contact support [link="https://www.stardock.com/about/contactus.asp"]WWW Link[/link] and reference this thread so you don't have to start all over again. What you've tried to do makes sense to me, but it sounds like it's a bit tangled up and I'd just have them sort it out. 'Course, now that I've said that, someone else will come along here and know exactly how to get it untangled :) and that'd be alright too.

If you are using the free version, I don't believe it supports placement on the secondary monitor. You can double check me by looking for the configuration option below for "Plus". If you are using Plus, the "Pay" version, to move a tabbed dock just click on a tab and drag the dock to the edge you want it to be on. It will tend to "suck to / stick to" the nearest edge on the way, but just keep pulling on it until it gets where you want it. If you are using Plus, the "Pay" ver

Seabass- He says he's using XP Pro (no mention of 32 or 64), I'm on XPHomeSP2. I've never had OD free loaded since my last XP re-load (hard drive replacement). (Careful, I may end up with yet another OD toy to play with!! )

Oh, I forgot the basic. If you want to just ask Stardock Support about it, here's the link: [link="https://www.stardock.com/about/contactus.asp"]WWW Link[/link] and refer to this thread so you don't have to start all over again. I've never asked them about it.

Can't solve your problem, but I can let you know that what you're seeing with the systray is how it works for me as well (XPHomeSP2). I don't really know, but I've assumed that limited users don't have access rights to the system services required to feed the dock. You will probably also find that, while in a limited user, if you start up Object Dock using the "Run As" option with Admin's login, the systray dock will load up. Sounds like the start button has the same limitation. <

(Today seems to be "angry day" here at the forum, so I ask this very quietly and almost apologetically) I just switched from CursorXP to CursorFX, and it all went very well, thank you. CursorFX isn't showing in Theme Manager and I'm wondering if it should be, whether or not I need to uninstall/reinstall Theme Manager. Thanks. (Slinks back off into the shadows.) :)

Lantec:
To install .curXPTheme I open in the "New Package" dialog and saveas .cursorfx then move to the appropriate directory.
Any reason you redo/rename the curXPThemes? I've just been moving them over "as is", seems to work fine. Just wondering if I'm missing out on anything. Thanks.

Ugh. Only thing I can think of is to create new entries in the dock by dragging the shortcut icons of the problem programs directly from the desktop or startup menu into the dock, and see if the new dock entries work. It doesn't seem likely that it would help, but it might (???) if you haven't already tried creating fresh dock entries that way. Someone else might have better ideas, or you can always try Stardock Support [link="https://www.stardock.com/about/contactus.asp"]WWW

Too funny :D Mental image of person thumping on machine "Hello, anybody in there?"

Ok, everybody miss-understood when I tried to be brief, that's what I get  Now for the verbose approach. 1. As you are logging in now, does the Object Dock software itself start up fine without running it with Admin rights? (Here, I'm not talking about launching applications from the dock yet, just starting Object Dock itself.) 2. Do the other non-Stardock applications that you are having trouble starting from Object Dock need to be run with admin rights if you s

Pictoratus - What you're getting is more extreme than what I get. Mine does allow for the taskbar, so the icons would be sitting just above the taskbar with the bottom edge of the dock background buried behind it, instead of a third of the icon height buried. Ya it looks like yours isn't allowing for the taskbar at all.
Anyone else seen this?
Ya I have to set it manually. Never really worried about it, but as a side note I frequently use Desktop X either with or instead of OD, so maybe it is related. Might be interesting to learn if it works as expected for people who don't use DTX. It doesn't particularly bother me, just wanted to let you know that it's not just you. Added trivia: As I play with this it looks like "Automatic distance" sets the bottom of t

Custom2008- If you're not constantly changing your docks (like I do), it looks like this would be an option [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=176&aid=173780#1435411"]WWW Link[/link] I imagine you'll be duplicating your icon images between all of your user documents, but it would probably get the job done. Create docks in one user, "package docks" to a shared directory, logon under other user, "Import" the package. If you're using the free versio

If you right-click on the ODPlus tray icon, there is an option to "package images for sharing". Same function looks like it is accessible through Dock Setting / Themes / Package files (also a Import a package button here). I haven't played with it, play with my docks wayyy too much to bother with it, but it looks like this might be a good way to save everything including images and load them back up later, even on a different machine or different user. You might give that a shot if yo
@Lantec: I found myself uninstalling RightClick, I just found no use to it at all. But we all have different opinions...
Ya that's one of the nice things about getting the entire package, you can pick and choose what pieces you want to run instead of loading up a big mammoth of a suite all the time. I run a little of "this" and a little of "that" for awhile, then sometimes a little of the "other". Makes fo

Can't help it, have to throw out an opinion. I like bootskin, but if I were Stardock and having to update 10 or 20 or however many pieces of software to xp64bit, Vista32bit, Vista64bit, and whatever else, the software that only shows for about 10 seconds at startup would be the last one I'd worry about. I'm ok with that.

Not an answer, but barring an actual answer here's a method I use that makes such a thing less annoying: I have a similar problem with a few of my favorite skins, they frequently don't load properly at boot but will apply fine afterwards. I figure it's boot order, boot up load, or a side effect of hyperthreading/dual processing, or whatever. Anyway, when I want to use one of those skins, I create a shortcut to wbconfig.exe in my startup folder. The wb configuration screen then opens
