What's this? The smilies aren't working, but your frownies are? BTW, I noticed that although clicking on the smiley icons doesn't do anything, it still translates the text you type in into emoticons where appropriate.

Quoting Joe (the quote button didn't work) "I also would get premium suites to support the artists who make all those free skins for nothing. I think in fact all of those who are doing skin suites have more than 150 skins for free (and there are quite good) " This is exactly why I became a WinCustomize subscriber, even though there were no real tangible benefits to at the time. For those who want to support the community and individual artists by buying these suites, that's perfect

Images aren't related to html, the question is whether or not the popular browsers support that image format. Unfortunately for you, few browser support MNG (and mozilla just ditched native MNG support). If you want to use MNG animations you must include a link where people can get the MNG plugin for both IE and Mozilla based browsers (like Netscape). Another drawback to MNG is enormous filesizes compared to GIF and Flash animations. Just about every browser supports GIF and

I answered as #6, no interest. I'm not going to pay $10 for those packs when stuff equally good is out there for free. I'm especially not going to pay for the packs when much better stuff is out there for free. (Note: not referring to the icons here, those are flat out excellent, I'm just not going to buy them at the current price) I'm not saying that the subscriber premium suites and the suites available in the store are bad, I'm just saying that there is much much better stuff out

P.S. PNG is better than GIF because it supports 256 levels of transparency, GIF only supports full ON or full OFF. PNG also supports millions of colors, GIF only supports 256. That said, PNG's compression is fairly lousy. I can occasionally compress images more with PNG than with GIF or JPG, but usually it's the other way around.

/me @ craeonics, but is it bad taste or merely uneducated taste? Amending my previous post, purely gray skins can be wonderful. See Judge's iSkin for an example, goes to show that gray can be good if you have a high level of detail.

(row, col) (3,1), (2, 3), (3, 2), (4, 2), (4, 3), (5, 3) oops, that''s more than 3 isn''t it? Ok, 3 faves: (5, 3), (2, 3), (3, 1) It''ll be quite a while before anything replaces iSkin on my computer, but I''ve downloaded dinksDX Blue and it will definitely be going up

c242 My main experience with LCD monitors is with those under $300 (since those are the ones that are bought by non-techs). I use them every day, and they are extremely poor for anything other than your generic cubicle-monkey office tasks.

Muted colors, regardless of the color. I do love shades of blue though. Grays are ok, but they should be more like a color-gray, not pure gray. Also, I think that grays should not be the basis for skins, but for details. Large areas of gray (to me) are ugly and annoying.

CRT monitors are best if you do graphics, play games, or watch movies on your computer. LCD monitors are only good for office use right now. The problems are low resolution, poor dot pitch, and horrible refresh times. Of course, there are come LCD monitors that are good at the above, but they're still MEGA $$$.
