The sensor graphic always gets displayed in the top left hand corner if you just left-click on it once.
Jaggy
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I can't move around the main screen with the mouse. Ie. click somewhere and relocate the view there. I have to drag the minimap box around to look at other places on the map.. It's pretty annoying, but I don't know if it's a bug or just the way it works.
I just thought of this idea and think that it could be really fun. Have the major races be Humans (player), Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, and Orcs. Political parties like, "Tolkien Freaks" who get bonus to diplomacy, "The Society for Creative Anachronisms" who get bonuses to research, "The Disbelievers", who can't accept that aliens are elves, "Wiccans" who get bonus to sensor range and influence.... you get the idea. Research could be mixed between real techs and magic, and the union bet
If I remember correctly, the downloading works on individual files correct? I accidently deleted CorePol.Party from the galciv/data folder, but the download manager doesn't recognize that I have missing files. How can I fix this? ~SDC~
I'd like to see the implementation of an advisor panel, similar to the old sim cities, where there are different people for each topic that give advice on how your empire is doing and how to make it do better. ~SDC~
Is there any way to create a pre-made galaxy ? I'd like to be able to create scenarios with stars in certain places owned by certain races, etc. Could it be done by loading a save game file or something similar? ~SDC~
I 'm personally working on a conversion mod based upon the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. I think that the idea would fit GC very well, and would be really fun to play. If anyone has read the series and wants to help, I'd really appreciate it. Luckily enough, there's some good information available online to use as reference sources. ~SDC~
I have actually had a world revolt and overthrow the reigns of my local government- it had a moral of 1 or so, and was the only terran planet in the sector with several minor races. On a different note, I have tried to get defections on my side, but i have no idea how to tell if i have a chance of succeeding or am close etc. I end up giving the race a trade good for a planet I want.
I'd really like for the added option of telling one race to make peace with another, it would be extremely useful, and makes sense too, the US does it constantly. The game crashed to desktop when i had a freighter selected but not visible, then i double clicked on the small icon from the orbit listing area. Perhaps double clicking there should make the screen zoom to the ship?
I'd like to be able to customize the ships, choosing components, etc... not likely, but it would be cool. I'd also like if you had stacked ships, wouldn't it make sense if there was one attacking battleship, and you had five defending battle cruisers, you would be able to win? i suppose thats tactical combat, but right now, it just moves left to right, killing all of em, which doens't make sense to me- one on five, the five should be able to win, so long as they're not completely outcl
I have a GeForce3 Ti 2000 64 meg onboard RAM, 638 system RAM. And no, its just the planet files. The other movies all seem fine.
Bunch 'o Bugs: -On the Diplomatic: Speak To screen with another race, when looking at the trade information from three buttons, it said Torians recieve 83% if income from trade. 83% of the trade income is from us. I am ALL of their trade income. It just copied the stat, didn't find the real one. -When a Civ is allied with you, then you give them a tech present, their status changes to 'String No' and they are no longer allied according to the treaties page -On the
The populations were all probably around the max for the planet types, at least in the 8 billion range, the larger planets in the 20 billion range. With the transports though, i think, but am not sure, that that population is not detracted from the total, so putting people in transports actually increases your total, as your planets regrow the people in transports.
thus representing the realistic nature of the problem, Solitair :) If perhaps the patrolling could be done in a way that the two ships moved on the same squares, at the slower ship's (freighter's most likely) speed, you could send literal convoys of freighters And the micromanagement shouldn't be too bad, you just select a planet, and send a trader, or five or whatever, to it, accompanied by an appropriate number of warships and let them go. You would just need to actually look at the
I wish it were true, but no races were at war, and there were no transports or colony ships... each and every planet for whichever race had become doomed, would decrease at a rate that i would guess to be similar to their population growth, constantly, making a nice even curve on the graph until there are none left at all. 0. i can send a save game file if you want, but you should be able to see it for yourself. It only occurs later in the game, usually after i've gotten terraformin
To add yet another idea to the mix... what if you built all of your own freighters, and upon establishing a route, you add more freighters that you built to the route, and ships on the route automatically ply back and forth between the two systems, but the more often a ship stops in at port, the less money made, so you could got for tons of ships at 2 bc a stop, or fewer at 8 bc a stop. Eventually though, the foreign world would get inundated with your goods, and the price would drop below
they're total income form trade, income from trade with your civ, and income from trae with other civs
-on the Stats page for domestic policy, when looking at Abilities, Population_Growth takes up two lines, but the placement on the percentages on the right don't reflect that, same with Military_Production, so the entire thing is skewed up several slots, leaving the botom off-kilter, and Trade Routes dropped from the sreen all-together. Plus Trade Routes got a percentage bonus of +3% instead of just +3 -GNN chops longer news reports on the bottom of the text -When you self-dest

I think a resign button or option would be a great thing to have. I'm really far in a game, but need several thousand turns to come anywhere near a victory through research of transcendence (or whatever its called) and would just like to resign and get my score, because even why i tried to get killed, my defenses were too good, and the transports stopped coming after a good 500 billion troops were dropped.
I just loaded a game, and had somewhere in the realm of -100,000 bc .... when i saved i was at +20,000 or so. Then all of my population started to die off. During the game, before i had saved and quit last night, the technology and manufacturing graphs stopped showing my civ and Drengin, the only two who were still alive, and the rest where flat lines on the bottom. I think they stopped during a scale shift on the graph, but am not sure.
For the two civs on system thing... if you think about it, if you were an inter-system government, would you permit a foreign race and civilization to colonize planets within your own sphere of territory? thats like saying the Indians, scuze me Native Americans, should have just let the settlers take over all of the land, or any other similar situation. That would be letting the enemy onto your own soil, would you really want a potential enemy colonizing Mars, just because we didn't want to ye
... they are fixing the problems as soon as we identify them, isn't that much better than letting us play with a game that crashed half the time, and none of the features work? I think a new beta release every other day is great, since it means they are dedicated to improving the game, and are really taking our input, making the game better and better all the time. Why bother keeping differences straight? just catalogue all problems each release, post em, and wait for the next update, and do
A similar thing happened to me last game, the Yor population, once way larger than mine, just start slwoly declining- each planet was growing backwards.... all at the same rate, until they all died, and no more Yor.
Trade ships could definitely have a lot to do with it- my economy always goes through an up and down cycle, only making money when the trade ships are a certain distance away, and losing when they're not. The fluction of income on distance is pretty big in some cases. The different sliders though, for government spending and taxes, I'm now positive are not quite right. I'll move the bars back and force trying to optimize the situation, but numbers appear on the right that are not actu
