Repulse is the problem. IMO, it's fundamentally flawed. Personally, I'd like to see the Revelation lose its "guidance" ability and have Repulse replace it. It'd be far more balanced as a capital ship ability. Once bugged illuminators are dealt with, and scouts hopefully take a minor nerf, repulse will be the only major outsanding issue for Advent.
That's actually the best solution I think t

You know this how?
This thread has sure shied away from Skirmishers at this point.
Good work so far, Allegiance86, keep it up :)
No, it's not. All the logistics buildings use it too, but it doesn't use antimatter and i think they're disabled for its duration. In other words, the cloaking ability is 99.999% useless, with that .001% of usefulness being found if you park a scout at a star and turn the ability on. If memory serves, the AM regen from the star outweighs the scout's AM drain from the ability, so the scout will in effect be perma-stealthed. Of course, if you really want a scout at a star, just park a starbase there for much better results. Peeps should be careful in what they call cheating. If you're abusing the Z Axis to beat fir
IMO, since this has reached 252 replies, let's open up a thread petitioning the devs to tell us what it really stands for :-P
Subverters... god, they are a pale shadow of what they used to be. But I still use them commonly, the problem is that you have to micro them like a god, know when to hold them in reserve, and bring 2x as many as would seem prudent because half need to be auto cast off, and the other half need to be autocasting the missile debuff. I wish the Subverter nerf from way back would be completely repealed... I could care less about Returning Armada (it was a crutch for the skilless in it's OP state,
:VICTORY SCREEN FOR TRADER DEFENSE NAVY::
God, if any real video game only gave you some lame ass victory screen when you won, the dev's would get lynched. Obviously you have not yet won. L2Cutscene, noobz.
When the beta is, so my preorder shall be :-P Edit: LOL, Total Recall, I had totally forgotten that scene!!! Gotta go watch that now ^_^
I knew it! Dark Eldar, Eldar, and Tau here (in that order, lol). I look forward to the next update, as do many others. Keep on truckin' Witchfire! -Itharus
Give it a few minutes, the rate goes up (if you're measuring right away). Also, make sure your refinery ships are making it there and back again... also consider your upkeep.
As I ponder it. I think its "naturists" Trade Defense Naturists. Sounds good.
So... merchants with guns who wander around naked in the wilderness? Hot.
I can dream, right?
And how often do you actually let a Vasari opponent survive to that tech level, Jix Sanchezz (lol I'll never adjust to that name)? :-P
An Orkulus can be upgraded to have a higher population cap than Asteroids (and they pay taxes). It can also double as a trade port or two. Although with as many offense/defense options as the Orkulus has, you likely won't be using those at all unless you are placing a new starbase well behind the lines just for giggles.
And if the password is 'new england clam chowder', be sure to ask if it's the red can or the blue can... because you never can be too careful [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] .
On a large or huge map that would be extremely micro intensive when your in combat and managing your empire when all a vas has to do is select scouts and tell them to go there.
Nah, man... make a colony frigate and a couple of low-range escorts (heck, a single repair cruiser can do it if you're at that point in the game), designate it a fleet, right click the target grav well w/ auto cast on, and you're golden. Neutral extractors
I really don't think that claiming neutral extractors is any sort of advantage towards the Vasari, if anything it's a handicap - because taking them is critical for a Vasari, and they are incredibly easy to lose to another player. And there is nothing stopping the other races from sending out escorts with their colony ships and doing the exact same thing... hell, the other races' colony ships can and will actually destroy a Vasari scout if they engage it in combat. Which I find amusing since
Once upon a time the Vasari had racial strengths... look at the patch notes detailing their demise... then do a forum search and you'll notice a correlation between the patch dates and the forum whining and bitching dates that precede the patch notes within a three month period. The Vasari just got hit too hard with the nerf bat in some critical locations... partially repealing those nerfs would probably bring everything back in line.
Humans! Citizens of the Trader Emergency Coalition and soldiers of the Trader Defense Network , hear this proclamation! Your petty arguments over naming your military divisions no longer have any meaning, for while you have spent countless weeks fighting amongst yourselves, our armada of the most glorious Vasari Empire has arrived in orbit around your homeworld! Throw down your weapons, and pledge allegiance(86) to the service of the Vasari Empire, to do all wo
Star Bases are nothing that a squadron of Carrier Cruisers loaded up with bombers can't solve. In retrospect I think that Vanilla SOASE just offers a different mode of play for MP. Without the Entrenchment features you really have to rely on your fleet to both attack and defend, and doing one will leave you weak in the other, it's more 'active', yet also less complicated (incoming flame detected). Entrenchment is a longer term and more strategic (as opposed to tactical) mode o
I just hate it when they get spammed to ridiculous degrees. Actually, I hate anything when it's spammed to a ridiculous degree. However, when you have 50+ squadrons of bombers focus-firing on one target... it's particularly annoying. Honestly, I think that many ships in the game should be given a flakk battery or two... Heavy Cruisers, All Cap Ships, Light Carriers, Star Bases... all four of those would make sense. I don't mean give the
I agree, it would be nice to have a marker of some sort. I seem to recall something like that on Battle.net... the StarCraft Brood Wars players had a little emblem next to their name to show that said game was Brood Wars (instead of original). And many other games have the version number of the game right next to the match listing. It'd really be nice to consolidate the lists so that we could see what's up without having to open different versions of the game to do so. As an aside...
Call me crazy or possibly stupid, but I've been starting with a Skirantra Carrier lately.
