If I have a planet building Frictionless Clothing, why doesn't my project list reflect this and remove it from possible builds of other worlds? If I have a lot of worlds, I can't remember exactly what each one is building. It would suck to be building Frictionless Clothing on two worlds. ~SDC~

I am trying to upgrade several starbases with cultural and resource modules. However, I can't tell which modules are installed and which are available. The only way is to move my constructor to the base, install and see if I have upgrades available. If not, I have to go to another base. This is a huge waste of time. Why isn't there some list of available starbase mods based on your technology? I know the computer knows exactly what mods are available and what can be installed next, why don
Hey Dave, look at a planet with low moral, examine the production on that page (number of shields). Then go to Details and set the Propoganda slider all the way to the right, now go back and re-examine the production. If the planet has enough population you will see a difference. Keeping moral up also keeps production up. More people=more workers=more production. The production slider on the economics page determines what percentage of that planet's income will go to production, which does
Thanks for the comments, and russellmz2, certainly, use the screenshot. OK, here's the thing. If I bump up taxes, I will lower production (as moral drops, the shields each planet produces drops) so I was trying to keep production as high as possible. Throughout most of the game I was able to maintain nearly 100 spending. It wasn't until I absorbed a whole bunch of planets that I was losing money as I increased spending. So I want to keep moral up to maintain production, but
Here is a screenshot of a game I am in now. My problem is that if I raise taxes, I lose moral and maybe an election, and if I raise how much I am spending on techs I will be in deficit. So how can I increase the amount of income I am getting? I am trying to keep moral on each planet as high as possible (most are 100) to maintain production levels and I have given most every planet every conceivable upgrade possible. Any help appreciated http://www.kjcrowley.com/images/econ.jpg <
Madfizziks, I understand what you are saying but it still doesn't seem to make sense. I guess the question is: Would YOU have placed all those bonuses on a starbase sitting in an empty sector? ~SDC~
Lol slapbone! ~SDC~
Addendum: I zoomed in on the sector map so that you can see that there are NO STARS in that sector, much less planets. I dunno, maybe there's a reason for all the modules. But it sure seems like a waste of money. ~SDC~
Oh, nevermind. I see it doest it automatically. ~SDC~
What is the AI doing here? I don't see any reason for it to spazz out in the sector like this. Am I missing something? Do these modules that its added to its starbase do something (other than the mining)? http://www.diagnostic.com/stream/what.jpg I don't know how to embed the link in the text, can someone tell me that as well? ~SDC~
I have a star system with 3 planets who's moral is all above 55 and there is no other influence to speak of on that star system. Yet, there is a red frowny face on the star system. What gives? ~SDC~
No, you're right. There is no added benefit. I just lost a starbase upgrade though. Hope they see and fix this. ~SDC~
I don't think you can re-order the stack :notsure: I tried to select the bottom-most starbase but it will only upgrade the top starbase. If someone knows a way to reorder the stacks, let me know! ;) ~SDC~
These bases aren't upgraded yet. Is there a way to tell what bonuses unenhnaced starbases are giving? I was thinking I would upgrade each one individually and see if I get cumulative bonuses (like 10% + 10%). Could be great for trade. ~SDC~
;p My constructor had moved to the sector with another starbase and the question came up if I wanted to improve that starbase. I wasn't sure what improvement I wanted so I clicked cancel, checked my stats, decided what I wanted to to and returned to that constructor. It was still on top of the starbase, so I double clicked it and selected BUILD STARBASE (I thought this would just add to the existing one). Now I have two starbases in one area. And considering that ships have to FLY
I have a game where I was doing OK in, I was #1 in tech, econ, military and research. My planets were all pretty well populated with a variety of enhancements (soil, habitat, embassy, medical), I had the propoganda sliders for each planet set to 100, I was not in a war and my taxes were set to 25% (pretty low!). After a while the moral on each planet started dropping. One turn they were around 60 (average) the next turn, 55, the next turn 42, and the next turn we had an election whe
Are there maximums that you can have on a planet? Or is it per star system? Is there an optimal population? I mean is there some point where morale and production decrease because there are too many people on the planet? Thanks. Sorry I have so many questions, I can't play now but I am thinking about the game. ~SDC~
Bet you don't like it when you have to pay. I once had to pay 5% to each race. :sniff!: ~SDC~
20 months? Hmmm...ok, I'll keep that in mind. So is a viable strat to lease a ship to get it built quick and then sell it to another race and get more from them than you are paying yourself? Or does that not work? ~SDC~
How do I know what is an evil tech? I have the tech tree, but are there any other lists with the techs on them? I can't seem to figure out how to get a frigate. Thanks. ~SDC~
If it's green does that mean that they will most likely accept? Or definitely accept? ~SDC~
OK, so if I always choose C I will be percieved as "evil" but how does that effect my civilization? Do I get different techs to research based on my alignment? Or does it only affect my diplomatic standings with the other races? Thanks! ~SDC~
Are these things that you sell to another race who then pays for them over a period of time? I have noticed that you earn more money in the long run using this strategy, is that generally correct? Does every race pay the same amount for each tech or item? (Like a starfighter costs 5/turn for 20 turns for every race?) Is there a difference in how much you can get for an item based on how many payments you will take? (For instance, if I can sell a star fighter for 5/tur
OK, I'm new and I may not have the description right, but I am talking about those screens that come up every once in a while about landing on a planet. You know, where there is some other race and we could do A) Which is morally correct but hurts us in some way, B) Which is not so morraly correct, but does not hurt or help us or C) Which gives us great bonuses but screws someone. What's the point? I guess if you were role playing you could pre-choose a path before beginning the game
OK MxM111 that does the trick...thanks. I wish I could rename the governers to things like Empty, Militry, Planet Improvements, etc. Then I would know instantly which one to use in every situation. ~SDC~
