I'd been using the refresh rate force, to overcome the Win XP refresh rate problem, and I thin that when running some 2d games, it was causing a refresh rate conflict. I updated my CAT drivers and haven't re-used the refresh force yet, to test if this is true. I have a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u 22" monitor that supports almost every resolution and frequency on Earth, so that's why I'm thinking its the refresh locking.

Poison - I was in the exact same boat as you a while ago, and here's the easy thing I did to help ease myself into not losing :) #1 - Set the economic slider "spend rate" at the beginning of your game to 100% even if you're losing money.
