It is impossible to tell the difference on the Galactic map between the Drengins and some of the other races that are ALL SHADES of RED. Please alter these colors so I don't have to put my eyeballs directly on my monitor screen to see who owns what sector. (:( Thanks you! [Message Edited]

For real, they got over 2,000,000 in debt? How'd they do that?
Really? And that will get morale up?!
Hmmm well I'm playing 1 level above "normal" and playing with non-tech stats I cannot do this... For it to be effective you must have the tech points when you create your civ, and bury them early in the game. That's the only way they don't recover.
Yes that is correct, but each toe I looked at it, it kept ringing a bell. I knew it was from some Sci-fi movie.
I can do it to all the majors and the minors. Would you like a savegame? It was like a great discovery at first, but now it kinda feels like cheating. And I dont like to play on difficulty levels too far above normal.
When I play with a small and rare config, I find I'm desparate and wonder what the smallest sized planets are that I should colonize? Looking forward to people's thoughts!
Cari, when will the campaigns be uploaded for testing? And also, can you look at this thread: http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=133681#133681 and tell me if this is an AI issue in AP. Thanks a lot, I Love this game!
Ahhh, that's what I was thinking of!! Thanks Matthew! Theoden - e-mail on the way!
However it is scary in that I'm a US citizen. But, it's funny to to sell stuff for many months, and then go back and see a huge negative balance in their treasury. I've played some games where the AI could not even build a single ship because of this!
If I get a jump on tech, I have found that I can bury the AI in deep economic debt by selling a bunch of techs for the max amount over 20 months. This usally is more than the AI will make each month and at the end of the 20 turn aggreement he is hopelessly in debt. LOL This is in AP on the normal difficulty level. [Message Edited]
Wow that is sooo cool!! Bam Bam how did you come up with that idea? Will yoo do another one? If so I might like to do it as well.
Oh, I thought it was from "2001 A Space Odyessy" or "Aliens".
Ahaaa! That's why my monitor was making the weird noise. Running 16-bit at 1024x7680. Thanks! I couldn't figure out why my desktop was fine at 1024x768 - but it was at 32-biut.
Is that from a movie?
What resolution is Gal Civ running in? Thanks for the help! :)
I'd been using the refresh rate force, to overcome the Win XP refresh rate problem, and I thin that when running some 2d games, it was causing a refresh rate conflict. I updated my CAT drivers and haven't re-used the refresh force yet, to test if this is true. I have a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u 22" monitor that supports almost every resolution and frequency on Earth, so that's why I'm thinking its the refresh locking.
OK, it's not AP so I apologize. It only happned in Gal Civ, but after loading up another 2-D game (STrategci COmmand) I replicated it. It must be my current ATI drivers.
Hmmm, because I have AP beta 3, and it only happens with AP, and it's reproducable. Who are you?!
After playing for a while, my montior starts making a weird squealing sound. I have no idea why. :( * OS: Win XP Home SP1 * Directx 9.0B * Processor: AMD 64 3200+ * Motherboard: Asus K8V Deluxe * Bios Rev: Version 1004 * Memory: 1 Gig Kingston 3500 (433MHz) * Video Card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Cat 3.10 * Sound Card: SB Audigy 2 (latest non-beta drivers) * Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Surround System * Sound settings utilizing 5.1 speakers and EAX 3 *
Poison - I was in the exact same boat as you a while ago, and here's the easy thing I did to help ease myself into not losing :) #1 - Set the economic slider "spend rate" at the beginning of your game to 100% even if you're losing money. The most important thig is quick research and churning out colony ships. Therefore change your social production to 0%, and your ship/research to 50% each. #2 - Trade often with thea aliens. If you have to trade 3 techs for 1, that's OK, t
Oh cool thanks!
How do I load a custom made map in the AP beta? I want to play my creratuion?
Hmmm strange. So maybe I need to un-install and re-install?
This is a question for AP and the latest patch... Beta 3: Anyone know if the Paladin can finish getting produced now?
