I get crashes to desktop ALOT with the latest patch, during gameplay. Never ever happened with any of the other patches.

For every one time I've seen the Yor a threat (read: maybe twice) I've seen 10 times where they are in a pathetic state and the first to vanish. "Sometimes we go extinct even before the Carinoids!" -Yor Official Motto
I look forward to the cinematic. I remember how really satisfying it was to watch the Stellar Converter cutscene in Moo2.
Moo3 drove me to Galciv. Galciv Devs were smart to wait for Moo3 to release, best marketing campaign ever. I almost don't notice the lack of tactical combat anymore.... Is Moo3 any fun now? Comparable to Galciv?
Well Duglis, you went out with a high note with the Puppet Masters Event. "though topless"
I've played a few games with Red Drengin and it's nice. No bugs that I've seen.
Um, you can set it so the Top Right map shows what is unexplored. I think you have to turn off sector influence.
Yeah I colonize 12s... they end up 15 or better with Soil and Hab. techs so that's my cut off. Seems to help 'cause unlike the AI, I don't know where the yellow stars are.
Minor civs don't affect victory conditions.... It's like they don't exist for that. Supposedly they have their own AI (#6). Most of them stay in their home sector forever. In my games, I trade techs/goods almost exclusively with them.... it's also good to keep one alive for trade routes.
Do you get a message that they are doing it? Basically, the only thing I notice about the Venge is they always get the same picture and they always give the Terrorism is Over message when wiped out. I've never seen them attack. Then again I sell every new minor all my trade goods and wipe out their cash, but I doubt that does anything.
I'm hoping I'm not wasting my PQ points.... but considering I colonize 12, 13, and 14s it helps in the longrun.
What unique minor race events are there? I've heard of Dread Lords, and Arnor -- never gotten those. I've had a Venge "terrorist" minor civ appear, but they never seem to do anything. I was playing with Lucky for awhile, but it's been off and still nothing. I notice the Venge get special graphics... do the Dread Lords and Arnor?
I used Terror Stars a bit when the AI had overwhelming population and defenses (or they really pissed me off and I wanted to wipe out a system... can't wait for the Stellar Converter-like graphics).... Though since I got the added invasion tactics from the library here, I've been happy with xenomorph invasion (note, there seems to be a Xenomorph tech to research -- but you get the tactic from the start) [Message Edited]
Hmm... only time I've ever tried to buy a starbase is when I'm about to exterminate an AI and I don't want it to vanish. Isn't it usually cheaper to start a war with them, wipe out their base, and claim it? Even if they are tougher than you, it would have to be cheaper than 20-30k to make peace.
I had one end game where my treasury was permanently negative. I lost all trade routes going to the final war, already had plenty of ships and tech... I used the most expensive invasion options every time... Taxes just went to maintenance. Bottom line, no real downside to going deep deep deeper in debt under that circumstance
I don't think morale ever affects PQ (other way around). I've gotten the Venge minor race, that give a "terrorist group destroyed message" every time they get wiped out.... the thing is they never do anything terroristic that I see.
Correction- Duglis I just read the Puppet Masters event, it's the first one that I've LOL for since the originals. ("topless") (Also a fan of the book and movie)
Hey, didn't mean to pick on your events.... your graphics switch-er-oo is my favorite Galciv file. (Also, one of the default events has no change for the evil choice). Just grumpy about alot of the player events.... I haven't seen one half as funny as the Boil Nectar Farms... but my main complaint is the lack of temptation.
I've seen the AI in the process of building Terror Stars, have never seen them complete or field one of them though. Be interesting to declare war on them as I see one sneaking up on me... the opposite of what normally happens. [Message Edited]
Trade goods are still useful... probably more fair overall. I basically only sell the really powerful ones to the minors or a dying Major. But you can spin frictionless clothing for 1-2 techs from every race and some cash... I think that's worth it. The big drawback is I can't use them to end and start wars anymore. Used to be if I was getting whupped I could offer peace and Gravity Accels and maybe one other Trade Good. Now I can offer about 8 of them and the AI won't accept.... wh
Is it just me, or is blowing up 5 billion aliens about the best thing in the game?
One of the most annoying things is that you can get about 4 AIs to demand 1000s of credit in a single turn, and I can't get them to tribute me over 100 credits when the tables are reversed. I rarely pay tribute unless it's a small amount. As soon as I get the first tribute request, military goes to %100. That's the only way to survive it, 'cause they just use your cash to buy ships to destroy you with.
I think it makes perfect sense to surrender to an ally. Without getting too much into world events, if Iraq suddenly declared they were part of Russia, the U.S. would have acted a bit differently. What happens in real wars seems closer to what happens when you wipe out an AI -- provisional government is set up.
Doesn't the Godzilla-esque event have no change on the evil choice?
Shame there isn't any bonus techs for staying neutral.... there should be SOMETHING. I find myself trying to shift towards one end just to get the goodies.
