yeah, Star Wars:Rebellion, although a bad game, had a great fleet system. Not exactly 4x, but close enough to galciv to compare them gameplay wise. You could organize your ships into fleets, and when you engaged an enemy fleet, the game would go into tactical combat, with you giving orders on your ships to move/go in formation/fire on enemy ships, along with launching fighters, who you could also give orders too. Graphics were horrid, but combat was still fun. Another thing that game had that

well i know i for one havent played or really visited site since frogboy announced 1.11, since saved games dont transfer across versions apparently. With a questionable release date, i see no reason in playing a game that might not get recorded on the metaverse because of the patch. Speaking of which, when is it gonna be out anyhow?

yeah, im still confused as to how you have large amounts of cash and avoid destroying all the AI's crap. End game, im barely pulling in 500 BCs a turn and i usually spend it buying moral buildings for planets i flip from the AI (they either have everything built, or sac their own planets so i have to rebuild everything). I only build the following on my planets (and in this order): Soil Enhancement Habitat Improvement Entertainment Center Manufacturing Center AMPP
This company has made my PERMANENT do not buy from list ....... i do VERY much suggest that you of course do your homework, and then you will see, its in your best interest to stear clear of ALLLLLLL things associated with stardock ........
riiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhtttttt............. your alone in this. edit: and you have not once in any of your meaningless, ranting posts actually said what your problem is other than you cant submit scores to the metaver
1) A player's total Metaverse Score involves a formula that sees the total drop if a lower than average (for that player) score is submitted. Or thereabouts. This point raises a host of problems. The first is that it discourages full disclosure. Nobody interested in competing with others under the scoring system will see it as in their interest to report a game that will detract from their total. Thus we get a skewed picture, which I find unfortunate. The second problem is that this tends

to the person who was asking about gigantic maso, id say about 8 hours of RL time, but usually spanning 3-4 days. It would be cut in half if I didnt have to destroy all the worthless buildings the AI's build, as that takes up half my game time. edit: getting in practice on smaller maps doesnt hurt either, since the strategies are nearly the same, just on a larger scale (learning to exploit the AI's weaknesses). Also, the process of giving an AI 1 influence point every turn is ins

Something that really, really, really needs to be added is something similar to the obsolete military units feature, but for buildings. Buildings on this list no long show up on your build order, just like with the military one, but also, any planet with a building on the list immediatly destroys that building. I spend over half my game destroying worthless stuff that the AI builds on its planets, and its making the game not fun.

i dont think its revolving around destroying colonies, but more on loading games. Ive CTD at least once in an hour in which i loaded a game, even if i didnt destroy colonies. Whenever i load, it CTD eventually. If i play thru from my starting point, i dont CTD. Problem lies somewhere in saving/loading games i think.
CotalSo how do you keep money flowing when all trade partners are absorbed or destroyed.I have hard time keeping enough funds so I don't end up in whole myself at the end of game.Usually mid game I'm sitting pretty but as you acquire more and more planets theres no one left to trade with.I get tired of having to keep making freighters at end to keep my own econ from sinking fast.Even with most t/g and wonders built and even if I start reducing improvements on my planets to only econ and m

Ok, so im in my first gigantic/maso game. I have about 80% military conquest, but the worlds i dont have are scattered and it will take me a good two hours to get them all. Then all of a sudden, the fundamentalists appear and steal all the AIs remaining worlds, and i win. No mop up required for me, as the fundamentalists end up stealing 15-20 systems from the 2 remaining AI's. Now i was very happy about this, and seeing my score go up a good 40k on the metaverse made it even better. Anyone

grats cotal! i got a quick question tho.... how long your gigantic games usually take?? Ive got on ive been working on for about 5 hours now, and i know that i have won (finished tech tree, control 50% of map, have military lead so they wont declare war on me). Now its all mop up, and its gonna take me at least another 5 long, very very very boring hours to win. About how long your games usually last? ;)
Yeah, I know, but the dream is over. If a high level player comes in that screws all the low level players just starting and you have the same problem as we do now with the current set up.
well if its a high level player, i bet there gonna play on the higher difficulties most of the time (maybe an easy game here or there). There will still be those who submit a whole lot of games at low difficutlies which can scare off the newer players, but your going to have that with

For my saber color... id like Mace Windu's saber hilt with a red blade. The current background is fine (empire logo) is fine. Edit: And im tossing around the idea of maybe creating a couple guides (i.e. Maso tiny/small, Painful/Crippling Huge/Gigantic), wondering if those are needed or not. [Message Edited]

well, it is definately doable. Of your "cheese tactics", the only one i use is the influence one, but only to save time. By the time i start flipping planets, my military rating is usually 2-3x higher than the next closest AI (thanks to AMM.... i love these things). And using vincibles broader definition, i only use tech trading and the 1 influence point gifts. I do not bribe the AI to war with each other.
I won a maso game on a small map in a very simple way. As long as you find some way to survive until you can create terror stars you are unstoppable. Simple position 5 constructors next to each enemy star system of the ai you are targetting. Turn off all spending until you have enough money to make all the terror stars you need (for example 30k for 6 stars). Make the terror stars. Wait one turn. Blow up all the stars. It's the equivalent of an alpha strike but it doesn't matter if the ai
the topic about says it all, i usually send all my freighters from SOL (normally my largest planet) to their different destinies.is that okay? or should i send the freighters from different of my planets (not all from SOL) to their trade destinies?
it depends if SOL contains your best planets. I ALWAYS send all my freighters from my highest PQ planet to an AI's biggest economic system that is a direct route to my planet (read as: its a straight line from my planet to the

well, hi fellow jedi. Glad to join you, i really wasnt sure which empire i wanted to join tell my last post (well more like me ranting) about metaverse scoring. The actions of certain emporors in those threads, while trying to be helpful, turned me off about their empires (basically the totally unneccessary flame wars), while Obi Wan managed to avoid the flame waring all together. Anyways, I was wondering if one would tell me do i post what i want my saber to be here, or do i email...
News Flash: It's harder -- that's why you're complaining about it instead of playing it
well.... on the smaller maps, i can say maso is certainly EASIER than my huge/painful games.... yet im getting 7k more even though i can do it in about 1/5 of the time. Of course, if they implement the Ctr+N thing like you want, it certainly would make it much harder on maso, since starting position is a lot of the game on smaller maps.
