Don't forget how this worked in the original GalCiv and in the early alpha builds. This behavior is not consistant on this level (I have seen many times where this did NOT happen) and could have been a bug introduced by another change in ship behavior (it started at the same time that autopilot moves were changed to the "end" of the turn to give us a better chance to remove them from autopilot). Also, if the light years difference between ships when attacking without moving bo

gherardo, Congratulations. Be sure to bring her up right (as a GalCiv fan ;) ). Of course, you will not have much time to spend on GC for a while. Cheers, Jack

When there are two completions (or only one) they display fine in the completion list window (the list in the bottom right of the main screen). When there are four or more completions two will display with a scroll bar that allows you to see the rest of the list. But when there are only three completions, only the first two are shown and there is no scroll bar to see the third. The only way to get to the third completion is to click on one of the first two. Paul, Wouldn't a ship moving into the debree field of a distroyed ship suffer damage from the debree? It just doesn't make sense to me. Besides, if you read Brad's philosophy a sihp can keep attacking until it looses all of its hit points. They are not supposed to move until told to move into an empty tile. Cheers, Jack

I wanted to get a complete list of all of the things with Stardock that I must change with my move to another ISP. I will still have "pacificonline.net" through tomorrow (PST) amd will be moving to actionnet.net Friday. So far I have the following list of changes I need to make to be able to continue using/testing GC: 1) Wincustomize -- I have to change my net ID, but I have not looked at it to see if it is something I can do by editing my logon or if I have to request t

I just saw the advantage of this. ;) You can attack ships on two tiles at the same time. One enemy had a ship orbiting a planet and a ship in the tile just above (N) the planet. My Avatar was lined up one tile west of the planet (maybe a little less than one tile) and half a tile above the planet. I got both the ship orbiting the planet and the one north of the planet with one push of the -> key.

When a research completes in the same turn as improvements are completed the resulting windows compete and overlap each other with the improvement completion window over the tech completion window. The only choice is to push the "done" button of the improvement completion window which results in it dissapearing. Then, after finishing with the tech window, the improvement completion window is gone. Fortunately, the completion list in the bottom right is still there, so one can

Cari, I am sending you the saved game for this problem. You will find one of the off-center ships in sector 12-8. My Avatar looks like it is diaginally SW of another race's ship, but I have to move it E to attack. Re-starting the game did not correct at least one of the off-center ships. I have the game preserved for examination if need be. Cheers, Jack

I had one (and only one) that was still there after I took it (moved my ship on the same tile). I was able to collect my $100 for 10-15 turns until the flowerette finally went out. So, the question is: Is it to be expected that an event can have several occurances on the same tile, or is this something that should be corrected. Cheers, Jack

How well can you at Stardock control the content of a thread? Can you build one that contains a few basic instructions to keep current? Sone of the changes that evolve as we go are what I have in mind, such as the keyboard control of ship movement. If something could be kept here in the forum that contained ONLY the current instructions it may be useful to all of us testers. Cheers, Jack

The 2/25 build (alpha 3, I presume) seems to be much more stable than before. I have already tried to re-create some of the problems I had run into before. Those where I could be certain were fixed, I have posted with "fixed" posts. Others, where my ability to re-create is good and the problem persists, I have not made a post to. Those that are difficult to re-create I am still trying to get some feel for. Cheers, Jack

Your correct about wanting to keep the size of these files small for downloading, but what about on the CDs that get shipped? I might be willing to buy a CD version for the better clips and out shots. Cheers, Jack
