That does certainly seems to be the case and I fully understand the rational behind it but when you haven't left the screen surely it should be consistent? After all until you leave the tax screen the tax rate is still subject to change, at least I would think so in a turn based scenario. Perhaps I'm using it wrongly. My thinking was nothing was set until I left the screen. If I were to return then I might see different results but just moving the slider up and down while testing the waters so t

Hi, Opening the Menu appears to be the same as clicking the Turn button. In the later stages of the game, I have to hit the turn button twice per month. The first time nothing happens only on the second click does the month rollover. Lead me initially to believe the autopilot was dead or only working every other turn at best as I'd click turn and my ships wouldn't move. I finally noticed neither was the month/year either. The Budget screen, hmm, well something is not
i'm always connected to the internet, cable modem, and I didn't see the submit page at all. (:(
I was doing okay no lock ups no missing turn button when all of a sudden it was back again. I'd click TURN and the letters 'TURN' would disappear from the button and then not come back. Clicking on the Map in the top left (with the left button) seems to reset it....but I found out what was causing it to happen. I had parked a ship (battleship as it happens) underneath a Drengin planet. BY that I mean the space where all ships for some reason appear when launched from the planet. As soon
I just replayed the last few turns of my last game...no final screen asking for email or submit or not appeared.
Thanks. I decided to take over the place and scored 380,000+ but it didn't register in the metaverse, was it supposed to? Is that enable yet? Thanks,
I've conquered all the squares with planets in them, i.e. they are all blue. Two races have no planets yet still appear in the Foreign Policy section and the other two races have maybe 6 star systems between them. Do I have control every single star system within each square as well? Thanks,
BTW the patch that came down this morning seems to have done wonders for stability. Not seen a single crash yet. Still have a slight problem with the TURN button not coming back. I've found that the trick to get round that is to right click somewhere on the star map in the top right corner, other than the square that is current the center of attention. this forces a screen refresh it appears and your back in business.
Kinda surprised when i could not only see what Arceans were building on one of their planets but it got better when I could change what they were building :CONGRAT: All I did was click on the star system, double click the planet and voila.
Hi, I played a game where all the planets were occupied and social improvements were in place research was fairly well developed Avatar ships and stuff and once again got walked over by the Drengin (:-) ) and exited to the menu and started a new civ. Imagine my surprise when i couldn't purchase any social improvements whatsoever. Even though it was a new game, soil improvements were available, nothing at all. It was a real shame because some of the planets were really awesome.
thanks. is there a technology map somewhere? How can everyone else have battleships when i still don't have a warp drive? it shouldn't be possible to build battleships or any advanced technology until you have researched or traded for all the other technology before it...surely?
Okay, playing on easy, i got wiped out before i'd gone anywhere by the awsome Drengin. How do you play? I prioritized research, changed the budget, but they walked in with battleships and it was all over?? Still haven't figured out how you attack another star system :sniff!:
The debug.err file is full of the repeating error below: Debug Message: Reading Star Names Debug Message: Error. No available spaces around star. *DEBUG ERROR: *** Invalid align type given to MWin::CalcCursorAlignment *** *DEBUG ERROR: *** Invalid align type given to MWin::CalcCursorAlignment *** It goes on and on, intersperced with what the game is doing. THis is the last few lines before the game closed up shop, (no error message, just closed) *DEBUG ERROR:
In the player/race setup screen, you can't highlight the default entries and replace in one go. you have backspace over all the characters of terran. I've no idea what is going in the attack phase. My little planets keep getting attacked and the attack screen shows that although I defeated the invasion, I lost 4294967.000 Bil. I didn't know I had that many people to big with. The loss is alwasy the same even on different planets being attacked. When looking at a system with the
I've only played three times, never had a battle, obviously playing very easy setting but it seems to me that there is a direct relation between the number of planets you've colonized and the event of picking up space debris or anomalies. Once I have a run away population growth, lots of star systems and lots of planets, it becomes a 50-50 chance of a crash when my captial ship picks up space debris. By crash btw I mean the entire game closes, no error message, no gpf, no entry in the e
if you only increase the build potential and don't actually get the buildings you just paid for, how come the next turn all three buildings are no longer in the 'available to build' list for that planet? I assumed that meant that I had built them, even if it takes a turn to take effect.
I colonized a new planet/star system and purchased several new buildings the same turn only to have the game crash. I'd done this previously but this was a saved game i restarted.
I had problems trying to read the text on the research items when you successfully complete an item. Scrolling was hit and miss. trying to scroll one line would on occasion jump to the bottom and scroll everything off the top. Other research text appeared to be incomplete but that could be due to scrolling problems.
Each item available for research shows it will take xx months to complete. I had a capital ship flying around picking up space debris etc and caught yet another of those research completes in weeks rather than months (forget how many I'd had at this point). I believe it completed Hyperspace travel but could be wrong. All the remaining research items jumped to 1000 months. On the next turn they were back to the correct settings for each research item. As soon as I discovered another item
if its not too late, count me in as well please. mailto:[email protected]
I agree turn based games have a lot going for them. I keep pausing CapII so I can set up factories etc without the clock running away. It does even up the chances that you can blow the AI away :)
