I certainly don't think it will be anything radically different although I do expect them to have heros like WC3 which would be a difference, although theres nothing in the videos to get my hopes up.

JoWood has announced the development of Gothic 4 in conjunction with terminating relations with development house Pluto 13. According to JoWood the two companies were working on the title together but could not come to an agreement and have decided to go their separate ways. The more-than-likely unintentional announcement of Gothic 4 has already put its status in limbo for the moment. Gothic 4 was set to come out for PC and various consoles.
Its almost been 10 years, I don't really mind them recycling a bit of their stuff at this point. From the videos it looks like there will be more than just a few units added to the game and also old units with new features. I understand your anger but think we should at least let them show a little more of the game before we freak out.
We should be game designers IMO... I've created like seven instances for WoW that would be awesome (although some would be for the hardcore raiders).
Yea I have been saying the samething for awhile. That kind of thing would be best for the PvP aspect IMO. Destroy Tarren Mill and the horde NPCs lose supplies or something of that nature. When something like that happens I will look at MMORPGs again for sure, till then its not likely I will get sucked into anything again.
Agreed, although the fact that there are DX10 related options in the settings that are greyed out is a bit of a tease. I think the blanket statement of never having it in the title was a little pre-mature. Maybe one of their devs down the road during an expansion could figure it out or something. 'No DX10 in the near future' would have been a little easier to hear (I am one of those few people you are talking about although Vista & DX10 aren't on my main gaming rig <img src="ht
Gamestop has pushed back the release date of the next installment to the Quake franchise from id Software and Splash Damage nearly a month. According to the retailer Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be ready on July 2, 2007 instead of the previously marked date of June 5, 2007. Of note is the fact that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Collector's Edition has been moved back to July 10, 2007, a full 8 days after the standard version is released. What kind of co
I would have much rathered a 'World of Starcraft' than WoW. The fantasy thing has more or less been done to death and their lore for it isn't all that original (the basis of the races that is) and on top of that I have always like Starcraft's lore more. But I will take a SC2 since I love RTSs anyways. As for what they are adding, the videos showed the old units getting some extra powers and stuff and at least a couple of new units were on obvious display for the Protoss (my ra
Gas Powered Games has ceased all development of DirectX 10 features for their recently released RTS Supreme Commander according to a recent forum posting from 'SonofShagrat.' GPG cited bad timing as the main factor behind their inability to add DirectX 10 capabilities to the title before shipment. Shagrat stated that "the availability of DX10 hardware, final releases of Vista itself, and the solid drivers simply did not line up with the necessary time frames in our development cycle."
Valve has canned their Black Box edition of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 in favor of the full-packaged Orange Box . The Black Box SKU was only going to have three products as part of the compilation, Half-Life 2: Episode Two , Portal and Team Fortress 2 , allowing a slimmed down package for any gamer whom had already purchased Valve's previous offerings. Valve has decided to can the idea and will only be releasing The Orange Box wh

The rumor has now become official with a posting on Station.com from SOE

PC gamers will have to wait a little longer for Will Wright's next title because Electronic Arts has broken news that Spore has been delayed to April 2008 at the earliest. Newly re-instated EA CEO John Riccitiello dropped the bomb as part of a post earnings report, delaying what many assumed to be EA's monster release of the coming holiday season. The title from the creator of The Sims and SimCity has high expectations and EA has blamed the delay on Quality Assu

The delay will be a short one, with the new release date chalked in for May 22 as Microsoft cleans up some last minute issues involving the install experience. A Microsoft rep said they delay will allow them "to make some improvements to the install experience and address other technical issues."
I guess I should have been a bit more clear. I did not mean that you should never review outside your areas of enjoyment but instead you should note what your particular interests are. Your examples are certainly valid, any piece of media that gets a review along the lines of "as you know normally I HATE fantasy/FPSs/Star Trek but this entry is so well done as to tear me away from my norms and open my eyes." Products do not need to be mas
As I mentioned in my previous blog/rant Denis Dyack addressed some huge issues that are harming or at least holding back the game industry. He and Silicon Knights learned first hand at last year's E3 (and the final E3) how unforgiving and pointless the press could be when they looked at their latest proj
I wasn't even trying to promote Stardock in anyway but I should have expect that my lil rant may have come off this way. Not only are many of you people rabid fans of Stardock but as I and many of you pointed out, they are one of the companies who do it right. They bide their time, perfect their product as best they can with large beta groups and then release a polished product and support it as well as anyone and better than most with the exception
I am sure many of you here haven't heard of Denis Dyack but he has worked with the likes of Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto and his studio, Canadian-based Silicon Knights , is a close partner with Microsoft after leaving Nintendo some ye
THQ and Big Huge Games have announced a new development deal which will see the publisher bringing BHG's newly announced RPG from Ken Rolston to market for PC, PS3 and Xbox360 in 2009.
