The company that brought you the Final Fantasy franchise has just become a bit more bloated. Square-Enix announced that it will complete the purchase of fellow publisher Taito ending on March 31st, 2006. Taito was marked by Square-Enix roughly four months ago as an agreed upon stock takeover. Running With Scissors has announced that the POSTAL saga shall continue. The offbeat franchise will become a trilogy with POSTAL 3: Catharsis heading to PC and Xbox 360. Alan Gelfand, the creator of the 'Ollie' skating trick, is suing SEGA and Activision for alleged trademark infringement on his maneuver. SEGA has announced that the long lived Outrun series will be hitting PCs in March 2006. OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast will be the latest title in the franchise complete with a dozen fully licensed Ferrari models. Players will be able to tear up the road on over 30 stages spanning from Outrun 2 to Outrun 2 SP (special arcade edition) and will come complete with online play allowing for 6-player head-to-head action.

Ubisoft has silently delayed the next title in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has had its release date moved from February 2006 to March 2006 on Ubisoft's product website for all versions. The recently bankrupt publisher Acclaim has had a website created dedicated to selling the publishing rights to over 200 games. The trustees responsible for the liquidation, David R. Maltz Co., set up the website listing the various titles and each game's respected bids. GamesIndustry reports that Humungous Entertainment co-founder and Hulabee Entertainment founder, Shelley Day, has been convicted of fraud after she approached Asia Europe America's Bank of Seattle with false documents.
