When you open the space-station's details, it shows you only the completed improvements. I'd like to see the available one too. Perhaps the completed could have green arrows and others, red arrows.

I dont have a problem with just 10 trade routes. Place a space station in each of the sectors that the mini-freighter, then watch you trade income soar! I would like to see more than 3 trade improvements for a space-station. (in my last game, my 10 routes generated over 1,000 gold per turn!)
Brad is right. In my large galaxy, all but 8 sectors are blue. The good Alterans are in 1 cornor and they are fighting the evil Yor, in the opposite cornor (its true). Since I control the rest of the galaxy, there would be no way their ships could battle without crossing my territory. For the past few hours, I've been watching them fight each other in my sectors. Neither AI has been able to attack the other planets as their ships are being destroyed in blue galaxy center. Under the sector owners
re-education center social project shows as Secret Police in center box and build bar.
Space is free. You own stars and their planets.
Paul, If the minors were treated like majors in all aspects, then why have them at all? Brad is correct, they are there to be conquered or milked. How do you know the AI majors dont demand tribute from the minors? Have you ever sold techs to the majors? Beginning techs average 200 gold each, whether its sold to a major or minor AI. I have yet to find a way to convince a minor race to join my civ.
I disagree with Solitair. They start with 5,000 gold and are more willing to trade gold for tech than the majors. I aveage 200 - 250 gold for each tech. Finding 2 or 3 minor races early in the game is like hitting the lottery; trade 'em all my tech for lots of gold, this allows me to keep my tax rate at 49% and 100% spending rate thoughout most of the game! My moral averages 74. For the last 6 hours of game play, my spending bars are: 30, 50 & 20. I have the largest military and most technically
prepare as in a Big Tax Cut, then raise taxes after the election? It may work in the beta, but I hope Brad makes the elections more like real life, and a cut followed by a raise would make the voters very unhappy. If Bush cut taxes in October and raised them in December, I would vote against the Republicans next election.
No Next turn; all planet screens had a Done buttons. Only way to next planet screen was thru galactic new in lower right cornor, and the music played on only between screens.
In prior versions, this went away after my next tech advance. The Researching music plays all the time, even after 3 tech advances. My ships wont move using the arrow keys, even after breaking orbit. I have lots of contructors stuck in space, their turns being skipped, even though the 'no skip movement' option is on. Each planet improvement screen shows done instead of next. I use galactic new to go to next planet. In the 1/2 second between planet screens, the research music starts playing. Afte
magus, are your starbases maxed on defense?
When it happens to me, I save, quit and restart the game. The ship is now visible.
In real life, Politians do change political parties. I would like an option, the year before elections are held, to change parties. There is no guarantee that my new party will win a majority, but the odds of victory could be stated in the change party box.
Yes you can, but their names have disappeared from the planet detail screen. When I want to micro-manage a planet (usually my most productive), I select the bottom bar of the detail governor box. The middle 3 bars seem to have their own build sequences while the top one is my primary governor.
ok, i changes all AI to Genius and playes for 4 hours and gave up. The was way ahead of me tech and military. Their economies were better as they had more planets and starbases. I'm back in an all Smart game and they seem brain dead. There is a big difference between Average/Smart and Genius. I dont know anything about AI programming but Average & Smart needs improvement. They are brain-dead. Suggestion: Take the Genius code and use it for Smart and Average, but handicap the product
2 Suggestions: 1) For Starbases and Resources, use the ship button on the map as a toggle: off/ships only/Starbases& Resources only/show all. This way, if you turn off planets and ships, the only thing left would be your starbases & resources. This would be very useful on the gigantic map, when Brad adds the max window option to the map. 2)the ability to toggle the intensity of the sector lines on the map: on, low and off. This is useful for the Gigantic map as those line obscure th
Try playing all AI at Genius.
I played 2 partial games in a huge galaxy. I found that setting AI to either Average or Smart made no difference as neither built colony ships. In both games, I've colonized over 50 star systems while most AI have 1 - 5 systems (with suitable planets in adjacent sectors). In the average game, I found and colonized 5 class 26 planets, 2 of them near AI homeworlds (other side of galaxy from Earth).
I agree with Magus. I'd like to add 1 item: Save Games. 1) how do I deleted old saves off the list without leaving the game? Could I just use explorer and manually delete the folder and *.sav file with the save game 'name' I wish to remove from the list? 2) the mousebar should be moved to the right of the name, not in the middle. 3) If I re-name a save game, it should move to the top of the list or, better yet, have an option to sort the list by name or timestamp.
Kwim is right, this is harder. The Dregins and Yor have lots of battle cruisers and big star bases with constructors improving them. I have more planets but haven't built my first BC as I was buzy building colony ships. the Dregin's have nearly 5,000 gold in their treasury. Dregins and Yor have 1 or 2 techs more. At game start-up, I put 1 point to each of the 10 attributes and all AI set to Smart. Game speed is improved. A hot-key fast save would be nice as auto-save doesn't appear to
Cant they still release B4 today and patches during the week? Beta 3 is so buggy. AI ships can't fight each other.
As far as the colony cheat goes, I wouldn't waste my time on a class 19 or less world. Class 26, I would want least 33% worms (+8). A perfect (assume) 40 on a 26 world means +10 or 36. 1 or 2 36 planets with improvements will make a vast difference in the game. BTW, how is improvement calculated? Assumming 40% worms and 26 class planet with soil, habitat and terafarm: 26 * 1.4 * 1.1 * 1.1 * 1.2 = 52.8 world. I know this was in another message but what happened to the Terraf
I had all set to Genius
mine did too.. the ? mark. but it said i suffered a military defeat. and why a cakewalk, i did not use a single point; I had all zeroes when the galaxy was created.
The entire galaxy is blue. My Avatars are closing in and wham, game end, military defeat!! Best ships Yor have are Dreadnoughts and I'm at pease with only other race, the Alterans. I am also the most advanced race. Metaverse says cakewalk but i know I did not use a single point in beginning; 10 points not used. I would like to know what happened. (and how do I change my nickname?)
