My morale is typically 100% on every planet with a tax rate that rarely goes below 80%. I'm basically Sweden
How in the heck do you manage that? When I'm playing huge maps even with 100% morale I can rarely keep the tax rate over 35% without people getting pissed.

I ran into a problem in my most recent game when trying to sell tech. I was playing in a tiny galaxy and only one Major race and one Minor race had any money to buy tech with. This lack of cash really put a crimp on my money strategies.

One thing I've been searching for in the various screens is a way to tell what benefits there are for techs that I want to trade for. I don't have a handy list of what techs are what and when doing trades with aliens it would be nice to know what such and such tech does before trading for it. I can't remember all this myself and having an ingame tree reference would be very nice.

It all went down the sink (for the aliens at least)a few turns later. Teleporters came on line and everyone got very happy. Are you saying that if I start out at 35 to 40 percent tax then my people won't mind, but if I try to raise it from 0 to 30% later then they will get very pissed off? I tried raising it to 30% but then morale dropped to the low 20's on most of the planets.

I'm playing a tiny galaxy at Beginning level and I'm having a very tough time with morale. I've had taxes set at 0 the entire time, getting all money from trade and tribute. Even with taxes set at zero, and every morale enhancing building and wonder I can make so far, the morale for most of my planets keeps at 54%. Besides dumping population into transports that are going nowhere, what else can I do to increase the morale of my citizens?

I have five mines on economic resources (+37% per mine) (playing gigantic galaxy). I disbanded all five mines, pressed turn, then went around to all the planets and governor screens and saw no difference in any of my economic bonuses or money levels anywhere. The effects of mining resources needs to be shown somewhere just so the players know SOMETHING is being gained from doint it. I am playing version 1.05.

Just for kicks and grins I dumped 7 bases in one sector all with 343% bonus to culture and now when I click on the icon to see how much influence I have in that sector it says I have 131 Million influence. This just seems a bit excessive to me.

As I flip planets I've noticed that the AI refuses to move these ships off to other worlds they control. In my view, if I flip a planet, all the ships in orbit should be mine too since technically they are 'manned' by the inhabitants of the planet who think I'm culturally superior! I usually just ignore them but I still wonder why the AI isn't using these ships in their wars that I know are going on.

I have a young planet with a PQ of 20. There are 10 buildings on the planet with a combined maintenance of 8bc. The planet is producing neither ships nor new improvements. The expenses for the planet are reported as 21 bc. What is creating the expense this 13 bc expense? On another planet the total maintenance for all the buildings is 25bc but the expense is ~60bc.
As long as we're on a "wish list" here, how about a main map with a zoom control? Playing Large galaxies, it's not fun trying to pick out the icons on the mini-map. With the late-game slowdown, I haven't tried anything bigger than Large, but they must be a real picnic.
The mini-map DOES have zoom control, at least for me it does. I play version 1.05 and I use the wheel on my mouse to zoom in and out of the mini-map. It also is useful when trying to load only 10 million
Using Speed BonusesS+s are used in sectors WITHOUT TCs. Later, you can add TCs to S+s, but it isn't recommend. S+s are usually added to make your TCs more worthwhile (by decreasing the LT).
You lost me here, I usually put in the TC, THEN the S+ in all the sectors along the Trade Route.

Although I love playing this game so much I took Tuesday off to enjoy it, there are few things about the interface that I feel need improvement. A pulldown menu to select which 'sort by' you want for the planets would be nice. I find it a bit irritating to have to constantly scroll back and forth through the selections to get the list I want. Being able to customize this list would be nice so I could put class, income and production side by side (the three I use most). On the governo
Was that the same turn you deleted that starbases which you looked at the score in? I have noticed that the game doesn't update those percentages until the next turn.
No, I checked morale, deleted them, pressed turn, and then checked morale again. I am playing v1.05

Do you have to have a colonized planet in the same sector as the resource in order to get the 'empire wide' bonuses that mining the resource is supposed to give you? Reason I ask this is I am mining two morale resources but I have no planets in the sector. One of my planets is at 43% morale so I deleted both starbases and clicked turn to see what would happen. The morale of the planet was unchanged, still at 43% even though I had deleted two starbases with 37% morale bonuses. I know this is a
